Our advice to you is to keep away from open water

Keep children at arms reach at all times

Stay away from the edges of rivers, canals and reservoirs especially if wet or icy conditions.

This weekend our crews attended a house fire that started from an E-Bike.

E-bikes and e-scooters use lithium-ion batteries and can become extremely dangerous if damaged, overcharged, or used with the wrong charger.

E-Bike Safety Tips:

✅ Use the correct charger
✅ Never charge overnight or near exits
✅ Avoid blocking hallways and doorways
✅ Stop using damaged batteries immediately
✅ Install working smoke alarms
✅ Store and charge e-bikes in a safe, ventilated area

A fire can spread in seconds — which is why one simple action can save lives:

Always close internal doors at night and when leaving your home.

As you can see from the pictures below the door in the corridor to the kitchen was closed.

Why does closing your door help?

- Slows the spread of fire and smoke
- Protects escape routes
- Gives you and your family more time to get out safely
- Reduces damage to your home

A closed door could be the barrier that saves a life.

These pictures show the importance of closing the door to the compartment upon discovering a fire to slow down the spread of fire and smoke. 3 cats were successfully rescued from the flat and are safe and well 😺🚒

It’s Week - raising awareness of the risks around water and help prevent accidental drowning.

Spending time by the water should be enjoyable – but it can be dangerous. Many accidental drownings are preventable.

If you unexpectedly fall into water, cold water shock can take your breath away. Fight the instinct to panic and
➡ Tilt your head back
➡ Keep your ears submerged
➡ Relax and spread your arms and legs It could save your life.
