🚓🚗 Vehicle Seized for SORN Offence 🚗🚓

While on patrol, PC 993 recovered a vehicle that was being used on a public road despite being declared SORN (Statutory Off Road Notification). ❌📋

A vehicle that has been declared SORN must not be driven or parked on a public road. If you plan to put a vehicle back into use, it must be correctly taxed and insured before being driven. ✅

We encourage all motorists to regularly check their vehicle's status and ensure they are complying with legal requirements. Taking a few moments to do so can help avoid enforcement action and keep our roads safe for everyone. 🚦🛣️

🚔 Reassurance Patrols in Your Community

Today PC 1527 Taylor carried out reassurance patrols around Spence Street and Duxbury Road following concerns from residents about anti-social behaviour in the area.

We spoke with staff at the local gym on Spence Street, as well as residents, to listen to concerns and provide a visible police presence. These patrols help us build relationships with our communities, gather information, and reassure those who live and work in the area.

If you have concerns about anti-social behaviour in your neighbourhood, please report them to us. Your information helps us target patrols where they are needed most.

🎓🚓 Inspiring Future Careers at Madani High School! 🚓🎓

PC 993 recently attended the Careers Fair at Madani High School, alongside a range of organisations, to speak with students about future career opportunities. 🙌

It was fantastic to meet so many enthusiastic young people interested in learning more about a career in policing. 👮‍♂️👮‍♀️ Students had the opportunity to ask questions, discover the variety of roles available within the police service, and gain an insight into the different pathways that can lead to a rewarding career with Leicestershire Police. 💙

From neighbourhood policing to specialist units, there was plenty to discuss, and we were impressed by the curiosity, confidence, and ambition shown by the students. 🌟

A big thank you to Madani High School for the invitation and to all the students who took the time to speak with us. We wish you every success in your future studies and careers! 🍀📚

Yesterday during the evening, PC 993 attended the General Hospital to carry out high-visibility patrols and provide reassurance to patients, visitors, and staff. 👮‍♂️💙

These patrols are part of our ongoing commitment to engaging with the community and working alongside partner agencies to help keep people safe, address concerns, and maintain a welcoming environment for everyone using the hospital. 🤝✅

🚔 PROACTIVE PATROLS – TWO VEHICLES SEIZED! 🚔

PC 4039 from the Rushey Mead Beat Team and PCSO 6582 from the Northfields Beat Team have been out on proactive patrols, taking action against vehicles being used without the correct legal requirements in place.

🚗 Vehicle 1: Seized for having no valid vehicle tax.

🚙 Vehicle 2: The driver was found to have an expired trade licence, and the vehicle had no valid road tax. The vehicle was subsequently seized.

Both vehicles were seized during the day and taken to the vehicle compound.

⚠️ A reminder to all motorists:
✅ Make sure your vehicle is taxed and compliant with the law.
✅ If you use trade plates, ensure your trade licence is valid.
✅ Understand the conditions and restrictions that apply to trade plates. They can only be used in accordance with the permitted purposes and licence conditions.

Being unaware of the rules does not remove your responsibility to comply with them.

Our officers will continue to carry out proactive patrols to identify offences, improve road safety and help keep our local communities safe.

🚔 Neighbourhood Patrol Update - Rowlatts Hill 🚔

Last night, Dedicated Neighbourhood Officers PC Wicks and PC Darbar were out on patrol around the Rowlatts Hill Estate following reports of vehicles parking up, causing nuisance, drinking alcohol and using nitrous oxide.

While we didn't manage to find the group on this occasion, the hunt continues! 👀

Nitrous oxide might be known by some as "laughing gas" and some people see it as harmless, but it's an illegal Class C drug and when used recreationally and can cause serious health problems. It can affect coordination, judgement and breathing. It's also something we know can contribute to anti-social behaviour and have a negative impact on local communities.

We'll continue carrying out patrols in the area and acting on information provided by residents.
