While at Sainsburys on Queens Road today carrying out enquiries and taking statements relating to a shoplifting incident, one of our PCSOs deterred another theft that was in progress.

It seems that sometimes simply being in the right place at the right time, and wearing a uniform, is enough to change someone's plans! 👀

A big thank you to the store staff and members of the public for your ongoing support and assistance. Your vigilance, information, and willingness to engage with us play a vital role in helping to prevent crime and keep our community safe.

The value of proactive foot patrols

While conducting foot patrols i spotted a vehicle travelling along Lutterworth Road which raised suspicion.

Following checks on the vehicle registration, it was identified as being subject to a Statutory Off Road Notification (SORN).

The vehicle was subsequently stopped and the driver spoken to, with appropriate roadside checks carried out.

As a result of the intervention, the vehicle was recovered from the road.

This incident highlights the importance of visible and proactive policing within our communities. Foot patrols provide officers with the opportunity to engage directly with the public, identify issues and take positive action where necessary.

A simple observation during routine patrol can have a tangible impact on road safety and the wider community.

Visible policing. Proactive action. Safer roads and communities.

🚨 ABANDONED VEHICLE FORCES PEDESTRIANS INTO THE ROAD! 🚗⚠️

👮‍♂️ Whilst out on foot patrol, I was made aware of a vehicle that had been left abandoned and completely blocking the footpath.

🚶‍♂️🐕 Dog walkers, pedestrians and, most concerningly, disabled members of the public were being forced to leave the pavement and walk out into the road to get around the vehicle.

⚠️ This created a real and completely unnecessary risk to public safety. Having people—particularly those who may already have mobility difficulties—forced into the road could potentially have resulted in serious injury or worse.

It is extremely disappointing that anyone would leave a vehicle in such a way, showing little consideration for other members of the community. A pavement is there to provide a safe route for pedestrians, and blocking it entirely can have serious consequences. 🚫🚗

✅ The vehicle has now been recovered, meaning the footpath is once again accessible and safer for everyone.

👏 Thank you to those who brought the issue to my attention. Looking out for one another and reporting hazards like this can make a real difference to keeping our streets safe. ❤️

🐾 While out on patrol this evening, we met Collin, who seemed very interested in what we were up to!

After stopping for a quick fuss and a chat, Collin appeared ready to join the team and come out on patrol with us. Unfortunately, we couldn't offer a warrant card, but plenty of ear scratches seemed to keep Collin happy! 😊

Safe to say Collin made our evening patrol a little brighter.

Thank you to everyone who stopped for a chat. It's these everyday conversations that help us stay connected with the community we serve.
