They were either born here or working in NLH in 1914.

As it is World Photography Day, I thought I would mention Measham Hall, Demolished between 1959-1961, it sat grandly between Normanton Le Heath and Measham. Home to Sir William Abney KCB FRS‭ (‬1843-1920), its imposing gatehouse, driveway, and footprint are still visible today.

Sir William was a keen Skywatcher and has published books on both the night sky and clouds. However, his main claim to fame is the development of colour photography. He designed some of the first colour plates and is considered the father of Polaroid.
