🚑❤️ **Learning skills that could save a life!**

What a fantastic day at Stratstone Land Rover today, supporting the brilliant work of the British Red Cross.

I had the pleasure of joining a hands-on first aid training session, learning and refreshing some vital life-saving skills, including CPR, using a defibrillator and dealing with emergencies.

What really impressed me was learning more about the incredible partnership between Land Rover Defender and the British Red Cross, which has now spanned over 70 years! 🌍

Together, they've helped support more than 2 million people across over 50 countries, with Defender vehicles helping humanitarian teams reach some of the most remote and challenging places on earth.

As someone who has always had a passion for Land Rovers, it's fantastic to see these iconic British vehicles doing so much good around the world.

A huge thank you to the team at Stratstone Jaguar Land Rover Derby and the British Red Cross for a brilliant and worthwhile day.

You never know when you might need to save someone's life, and having the confidence and skills to act could make all the difference. ❤️

It's now been one month since Reform UK last won a council by-election.

In that same time, the Conservatives have won SIX council by-elections across the country.

Let's take a moment to celebrate some fantastic victories this last month:

🌳 Cllr Katie Harrison, Forth & Endrick, Stirling

🌳 Cllr Craig Smith, Long Whatton & Diseworth, North West Leicestershire

🌳 Cllr Clare Stuart-Adams, Bray, Windsor & Maidenhead

🌳 Cllr Elizabeth Keeling, Wombourne North, South Staffordshire

🌳 Cllr Tom Bradley, Blockley, Cotswold

🌳 Cllr James Poland, Wreake Valley, Charnwood

Six wins. Six communities choosing Conservative councillors to represent them.

🚦 COALVILLE ROADWORKS – UPDATE! 🚦

You complained, I listened, and I've been getting answers! 💪

Following numerous complaints from residents about the traffic chaos caused by temporary traffic lights around Belvoir Road and Thornborough Road, I contacted Leicestershire County Council's Network Control team to investigate.

Having experienced the delays myself, I could see just how frustrating the situation had become!

Well, I've now had an explanation! 👇

It turns out the temporary traffic lights were only supposed to be in place overnight between 8pm and 6am, with the roads cleared during the day.

Unfortunately, due to an error by the contractor, the traffic management was left in place when it shouldn't have been! 🤦‍♂️

The contractors have apologised and have been instructed to review their procedures to ensure it doesn't happen again.

The current phase of works is expected to finish by the end of this week.

👏 A big thank you to the Leicestershire County Councill's Network Control team for investigating and getting back to me so quickly.

Please keep reporting these issues to me! I can't be everywhere at once, but with your help we can keep on top of things, hold contractors accountable and minimise unnecessary disruption.

Together, we're getting stuff done! 💪

⚠️Plan ahead: HS2 M42 weekend closure

🚧Teams at HS2 will be completing work on the M42 twin-box and Water Orton Viaducts. So they can work safely, closures will be in place from 9pm on Friday 23 October to 5am on Monday 26 October:

➡️M42 northbound between junctions 6 and 9
➡️M42 southbound between junctions 9 and 7
➡️M6 J4a southbound link to M42 both ways
➡️M6 northbound J3a link to M6toll T1
➡️M6 Toll southbound from T3.

🗺 If you can’t avoid the area, clearly signed diversion routes will be in place, so you’ll still be able to get to where you need to go. Delays are expected, so we recommend you plan ahead and allow extra time for your journeys.

🚆 Off to Westminster this morning! 🇬🇧

I’m heading to London for a private meeting with Chris Philp MP, the Shadow Home Secretary, to discuss asylum accommodation and the impact it’s having on our local communities.

There’s a lot of concern locally, but also an awful lot of misinformation being spread on social media, often by certain Councillors more interested in clicks and views than facts!

I’m interested in getting answers, not Facebook likes!

I want to know what’s really happening, who’s making the decisions and why local communities are being kept in the dark.

❓ So, what would YOU ask the Shadow Home Secretary?

Drop your questions below and I’ll do my best to raise them today.

Less political noise, more facts. Let’s get stuff done! 🇬🇧

🌳🌱 FREE TREES FOR NORTH WEST LEICESTERSHIRE! 🌳🌱

Who doesn't love a freebie, especially when it's good for our local environment! 🌍

This Is NWLeics runs a fantastic Free Tree Scheme, helping residents plant more trees and hedgerows across our communities.

I've always believed that looking after our environment starts right here on our doorstep. Whether it's tackling litter, protecting our green spaces or planting more trees, it's the small practical things that collectively make a big difference. 🌳

More trees mean greener neighbourhoods, better habitats for wildlife and a healthier environment for future generations.

🌱 Interested in getting involved?

You can find out more about the scheme and check when applications reopen here:
