We’re on our way, will post pictures of the event on here as we progress through the week.
Bon voyage and "break a leg" to our team of rope rescue experts who are on their way to Geneva for GrimpDay 2025, an international competition between some of the world’s leading rescue teams.
Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service are one of 32 teams from countries including France, Spain, Poland, Hong Kong, Canada, the USA and The Republic of Korea, plus the UK's own Intervention Rescue team, who'll be taking part in this three-day contest in rope rescue ability.
GrimpDay sees competitors locate and rescue a ‘casualty’ from set locations, which can include bridges, high-rise buildings, clock towers and cliffs, with points awarded for speed, technique and other factors.
The event, which has been running since 2006, is also an opportunity to share, learn and develop new techniques from this global community of rescue professionals.
So all the best to Jim, Wayne, Tamsin, Dan, Craig, Liam and Ken as they face the challenges in Switzerland later this week.
