Through live performances, recorded films, and award presentations, the evening recognised achievements in the categories of Great Neighbour, Volunteer, Fundraiser, Young Hero, Animal, Environmental, Active, and Community Group.

The Lord Mayor was honoured to attend the Iron Circle Run, a powerful community event dedicated to standing against domestic violence and turning male allyship into action.
Joined by the High Sheriff of Leicestershire, the Lord Mayor officially opened the event with a ceremonial ribbon cutting, marking the start of this meaningful challenge.
Participants completed between one and twenty laps of the course, with each lap representing a life lost to domestic violence in the previous year. The run served as a poignant reminder of the impact of domestic abuse on men, women, and children, while raising awareness and encouraging positive action within communities.
The day also featured family-friendly activities, engagement stalls, and an awards ceremony celebrating the commitment and achievements of those taking part. The Lord Mayor was proud to support this inspiring event and all those working to create a future free from domestic violence.

The Lord Mayor was delighted to attend the launch of Ekimogun Leicester, a new network bringing together Nigerian professionals of Ondo heritage living in Leicester and the surrounding areas.
The event celebrated cultural heritage, achievements and the significant contributions Nigerian professionals make to Leicester's social, economic and civic life. Guests enjoyed cultural presentations, inspiring speeches and opportunities to build new connections.
The Lord Mayor welcomed the organisation's commitment to supporting young people, encouraging professional development and strengthening community ties across the city.

The Lord Mayor was delighted to attend the Sikh Sports Association Annual Tournament at Saffron Lane Stadium.
Bringing together around 1,500 people of all ages, the annual tournament showcased a fantastic range of sporting activities and traditional games throughout the day. Events included Wrestling, MMA, Kabaddi, Football, Discus, Shot Put, 100m races, the 5000m walk, and traditional Punjabi ladies' games.
The tournament celebrated sport, culture, community spirit and healthy competition, providing an opportunity for families and friends to come together and enjoy a day of participation and entertainment.
The Lord Mayor praised the organisers, volunteers and participants for their dedication in making the event such a success.

The Lord Mayor was delighted to attend the Satyanarayan Samu Katha, a special religious ceremony marking the end of the holy month of Shravan. The event brought the community together in prayer and spiritual reflection, seeking peace and blessings for the people of Leicester.
The Lord Mayor recognised the dedication of Shree Prajapati Association Leicester and its members, who have worked throughout the year to support vulnerable and homeless people across the city. The Lord Mayor thanked everyone involved for their generosity, community spirit, and commitment to helping others.

The Lord Mayor was delighted to attend the annual Open Day at Rowley Fields Allotments, where the gates were opened to the local community for a special opportunity to explore the site and see what allotment members have been growing throughout the year.
Visitors were invited to take a stroll around the allotments, discover a wonderful variety of fruit, vegetables and flowers, and gain an insight into the dedication and hard work of the allotment holders.

The event also featured a range of fundraising stalls selling surplus and donated vegetables, plants and flowers, alongside tea and cakes, bric-a-brac and a tombola. The funds raised will help support the continued activities and development of the allotment community.

The Lord Mayor thanked the organisers, volunteers and allotment members for their warm welcome and for creating such a vibrant community event that brings people together while celebrating local growing, sustainability and community spirit

The Lord Mayor was delighted to be asked to the official opening the city’s very first Frozen Yoghurt store.
This exciting new franchise marks a significant milestone for Leicester and joins a growing brand that now has 16 stores nationwide.

Building on their family’s entrepreneurial legacy, Mehar Singh Sethi and Charina Anand have taken an exciting step into the food and beverage sector with this new venture.

The Lord Mayor received a warm welcome at the Braunstone Adventure Playground Funday, where children, young people, families, staff and volunteers came together for a day full of fun, laughter and community spirit.
The event was a wonderful celebration of everything the Summer Playscheme has achieved, creating memorable experiences, new friendships and lots of smiles throughout the holidays.

Featuring a truly international cast of performers, the show showcased a fantastic mix of breathtaking aerial acts, skilful juggling, laugh-out-loud clowning, an award-winning unicyclist, and the thrilling Motorcycle Globe
