🌿 Making our outdoor spaces matter! 🌿

Last month, we were incredibly lucky to welcome a fantastic team of volunteers from WBR Group, who spent a full day helping us tackle one of our many overgrown gardens.

Our gardens haven’t always been a priority, and as you can see from the before photos, some of our outdoor spaces were looking a little unloved! 🌱🌿

Thankfully, with a brilliant team, plenty of hard work and a full day of graft, they transformed the space into a clean, usable garden that our young people can enjoy. 🙌

It might seem like a simple change, but it has already made a huge difference. Having safe, welcoming outdoor spaces gives our young people somewhere to relax, socialise and spend time outside.

And most importantly, our young people have told us they want to use the outdoor spaces — so we’re listening! 💚

A huge thank you to everyone at WBR Group for giving up your time and putting in so much hard work. We really appreciate your support, and we hope this is the start of many more garden renovations across our properties! 🌳🌸

A New Chapter for a young person at Park Lodge Project

Today marked a really special milestone as one of our young people moved into their own self-contained flat at Park Lodge — the beginning of an exciting new chapter towards independence, stability and a place they can truly call home. 💙

What makes moments like this so special is the incredible teamwork behind the scenes. Our management and staff came together to make sure every detail was taken care of, from the practical arrangements to those all-important finishing touches that turn a flat into a home.

A huge thank you to Kallum, Assistant Manager, and colleagues from Dunblane Avenue young people’s home, who went above and beyond to help prepare the new home and make the move such a positive experience. Thank you to Giving World for the storage jars, baskets and some of the decor.

It’s moments like these that remind us why we do what we do. Supporting young people isn’t just about providing accommodation — it’s about creating opportunities, building confidence and helping young people take those important steps towards independent lives.

🏡 A home. A fresh start. A new chapter.

We’re incredibly proud of everyone involved and wish our young person every happiness in their new home. 💙

They say Teamwork makes the dream work. Well today all the staff at Park Lodge Project came together to take part in a fantastic training session facilitated by the wonderful Dr Marnie Aston from Imagine Inclusion Ltd

🎉 We’re delighted to share some fantastic news! 🎉

A huge thank you to B&Q and Neighbourly for awarding Park Lodge Project a £10,000 grant towards the refurbishment of one of our supported accommodation properties.

This generous funding will help us improve the quality of our accommodation, creating a safe, welcoming and comfortable home where young people can begin to rebuild their lives and look forward to a brighter future.

Every improvement we make helps create a place where our young people can feel secure, valued and supported as they take their next steps towards independence.

We can’t wait to get started and will be sharing updates along the way, so keep an eye on our pages to see the transformation as it happens!

Jonifer goes above and beyond every day, showing genuine kindness and compassion to all of our young people. She always takes the initiative, is willing to help wherever she’s needed, and greets everyone with a warm smile.

Thank you, Jonifer, for making such a positive difference to the lives of our young people and for being such a valued member of the Park Lodge Project team. We really appreciate everything you do.

What a fantastic day at the Centrepoint Networking Conference in Birmingham!..
It was a privilege to be invited as a guest speaker to share the work we do at Park Lodge Project supporting unaccompanied asylum-seeking children and young people.
I even slipped back into my teaching roots, presenting a PowerPoint and using Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs to explain our approach. Some things never leave you!
The room was filled with passionate, inspiring organisations, all working towards better outcomes for young people.
I finished with one simple message:
Be kind. It costs nothing, but it can change everything for a young person who has arrived alone.
Thank you to Centrepoint for the invitation and to everyone who came along and shared in such an inspiring day.

Had a fantastic morning visiting Entruct right here in Leicester to see the incredible work they are doing! 🌲🔨
It was inspiring to hear how one of our young people from Park Lodge has been thriving there three days a week—developing hands-on skills in woodworking, bushcraft, and environmental care, all while being supported by a truly excellent team of instructors.
A huge thank you to Wayne for taking the time to show us around the beautiful site and highlighting the amazing impact of these programs. The combination of practical learning and nature is doing wonders! 🪵✨

When the narrative around refugees isn’t always a positive one, yesterday was a wonderful reminder of the power of community, kindness and understanding.

Park Lodge Project was proud to be part of the fantastic Refugee Week celebrations organised by the British Red Cross in Leicester. It was such a positive day, spent alongside inspiring organisations, volunteers and individuals who are making a real difference.

Our young people taught me all about Sudanese tea, and one of our lovely young men has even promised to cook me a homemade meal – something I’m very much looking forward to!

It was a humbling experience and a privilege to be involved. A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the day such a success. Great teamwork all round.
