Hello from Leanne... A little September update from The Curiosity Mill 🤍

I know lots of you have been wondering why there aren't any September play sessions showing on the booking system.

Don't worry... it isn't broken! 😊

I simply haven't been able to plan ahead for the autumn just yet because there has been lots happening behind the scenes professionally.

As many of you know, I volunteer my time to run The Curiosity Mill. It is a completely self-sustaining space that I am incredibly proud of, and it is such a privilege to spend my free days with so many wonderful families.

So before anyone worries...

🤍 The Mill isn't going anywhere.
🤍 Play sessions will absolutely continue.
🤍 September dates are coming!

The reason for the short delay is actually a very exciting one.

From September, I will be working in a new professional role in addition to the varied work I already to across the EYFS Sector.

The role has the potential to positively impact so many Early Years professionals and children across the North West, and I genuinely can't wait to get started.

The great news is that it still leaves me with plenty of time to continue running The Curiosity Mill.

Over the next few weeks, however, I'll have a handful of one-off commitments such as inductions, training, safeguarding compliance and all those important "new job" bits and pieces. Rather than publish play dates and then disappoint families by cancelling sessions, I'd much rather wait a few more days until I have those dates confirmed.

As soon as I do, September bookings will be loaded.

Thank you, as always, for your patience, your support and for continuing to choose The Curiosity Mill. It never goes unnoticed.

With three children, a passion for education, and a business I absolutely love, I'm just finding my way through this exciting next chapter.

💙 A little Curiosity Mill money-saving tip for families…

Have your children got a Blue Peter Badge yet?

If they're aged 5–15, they could unlock FREE entry to over 200 attractions across the UK with a badge they've earned themselves.

It's completely free to apply, encourages creativity and could save your family hundreds of pounds on days out.

All they need to do is complete an application online by sharing something they've created, such as:
✨️ A drawing or painting
✨ A story or poem
✨ A project they've completed
✨ Something they've made
✨ A letter about an interest or achievement

Once their badge is awarded, they'll receive a Blue Peter Badge and digital/photo ID to use at participating attractions.

Some brilliant places in and around the North that accept Blue Peter Badges include:

💙 Eureka! The National Children's Museum – Halifax
💙 The Beatles Story – Liverpool
💙 National Coal Mining Museum – Wakefield (Underground Tour)

Our much-loved Halloween play event returns for another year of magical, hands-on spooky fun at The Curiosity Mill.

• We do not offer sibling discounts on special events.
• Additional adult spaces are limited to 1 per whole seasion and must be booked directly with us.
• Special event bookings are non-transferable. Once booked, sessions cannot be moved, changed or transferred for any reason.

Fully booked. Completely sold out. Every single summer play session for 2026 is now full. 🤍

Honestly... it completely overwhelms me that we get to say this time and time again.

One promise I have always made is that I will never overbook the space.

Our sessions are intentionally capped at 8 adults and 8 children, giving everyone the best chance of enjoying a calm, connected and unhurried play experience. That has never changed, and it never will.

Coming up to five years on, I still find it incredible that our little sessions continue to sell out. It's why you'll often hear me say...

✨ Book early. ✨ They do sell out. ✨ I'm so sorry, but I won't overbook the space.

To every family who has booked, recommended us to a friend, commented, liked, shared or simply cheered us on from afar...
