There’s nothing better than hearing that a resident and their family are feeling happy and supported. πŸ§‘πŸ’™

This lovely feedback from the granddaughter of a Marigold House resident recognises the kindness of the team, the quality of care her nan receives and the welcoming environment they’ve created around her.

Settling into a new home is a big change, so knowing that someone feels well cared for from the very beginning means a great deal to us. ☺️

Supporting independence is about more than providing care. It is about helping people continue to make choices, stay connected and enjoy the things that matter to them. 🫢

At Care is Central, our teams get to know each resident as an individual, providing the right support while encouraging independence wherever possible. Whether that means getting involved in activities, spending time in the community or simply choosing how to spend the day, the person always comes first. 🏑✨

Because good care should support people to live life their way.πŸ§‘πŸ’™

At Care is Central, being council-owned and not-for-profit shapes every decision we make.

It means our focus isn't on shareholders or profits. It's on people. On creating places where residents feel safe, valued and truly at home, while supporting families through every step of the journey.

From meaningful activities and home-cooked meals to compassionate care and familiar faces, we're proud to provide person-centred support that puts wellbeing first, every single day. πŸŒΏβ˜•

If you're looking for care for yourself or a loved one, we'd love to welcome you for a visit and show you what makes Care is Central different. 🏑

From little hands helping with puzzles to plenty of laughs over Bingo, it was another week full of connection, friendship and familiar faces across our homes.

Our youngest visitors once again brought so much joy to residents at Marigold House, proving that some of the best friendships span generations. Later, the competitive spirit came out as residents, carers and even Head Chef Steve got involved in another lively game of Bingo, with plenty of cheers, groans and celebrations along the way! πŸŽ‰

Meanwhile at Honeysuckle House, another exciting milestone was reached as Pam became the third resident to move into her new home. With George, Jim and Pam now settling in, Honeysuckle House is beginning to feel less like a new building and more like the welcoming community it was always designed to be. We can't wait to welcome even more residents through the doors.

It's the everyday moments that make a house feel like home. 🧑

One of last week's highlights at Marigold House was a wonderful afternoon filled with music, laughter and an unexpected performance.πŸŽΉπŸ’™

We were delighted to welcome Peter back for another live music session, treating residents to well-loved classics and taking requests that had everyone tapping their feet and singing along. πŸŽΆπŸ‘

Then came a surprise! Peter invited our very talented carer, Jaydun, to join him on the keyboard, and together they performed an impromptu duet that had the whole room smiling. Their performance was met with a huge round of well-deserved applause and was a real highlight of the afternoon. 🌟

A big thank you to Peter for another fantastic visit, and to Jaydun for sharing his incredible musical talent with everyone. Moments like these create memories that stay with us long after the final note has been played. 🧑

Another week, another week full of smiles at Marigold House. πŸ’™πŸ§‘

Our mornings got off to an energetic start with the launch of Sunshine Stretches, a brand-new resident-led armchair exercise session that was such a hit it's now becoming part of the daily routine. A brilliant way to wake up, get moving and enjoy a laugh together. β˜€οΈπŸ€Έ

Later in the day, residents put their teamwork to the test with Mark's interactive light-up Blazepods, challenging coordination, memory and reactions while cheering each other on every step of the way. πŸ’‘πŸ‘

We also had a very special visitor when Jo, our Maintenance Officer, introduced residents to one of our friendly visiting tortoises. Safe to say Shelly was fascinated! πŸ’πŸ’š

It's these shared moments, whether they're active, calming or simply a little unexpected, that make every day meaningful.

The best days are the ones spent doing the things you love. πŸ’™πŸ§‘

Whether it's a game of Music Bingo, an exercise class, a trip into town for a coffee, or simply enjoying a chat with friends over a cuppa, life at Care is Central is built around the people who call our homes home.

We know that meaningful moments look different for everyone, which is why we take the time to get to know each resident and support them to continue enjoying the hobbies, routines and little pleasures that make them smile.

Because great care isn't just about where you live. It's about living well. ✨

A little friendly competition, plenty of laughter and a taste of Wimbledon... what a great start to the week at Marigold House! πŸŽΎπŸ“πŸ’œ

Residents put their skills to the test in our hilarious Cup Knock Challenge, with foam sticks, blindfolds and lots of cheering making for a morning full of smiles. Safe to say there were some surprise champions along the way! πŸ˜‚πŸ‘

We also celebrated the start of the 2026 Wimbledon Championships in true British style, enjoying a fun quiz, refreshing alcohol-free Pimm's, strawberries and cream, and of course, watching the action from Centre Court together. A big thank you to our wonderful Catering Team for helping make the day extra special. πŸ“πŸ₯‚

It's moments like these that bring everyone together, creating memories, sparking conversations and making every day something to look forward to.

Sunshine, splashes and an ice cream to finish... what more could you ask for? β˜€οΈπŸ¦†πŸ¦

Residents made the most of the beautiful weather with a fun-filled morning in the garden, complete with a paddling pool and a very competitive game of Hook a Duck. Safe to say there were plenty of laughs and a few impressive catches along the way, especially from Tony with a little help from our brilliant carer Emily! πŸŽ£πŸ‘

To top it all off, our much-loved local ice cream man, Tony, paid us a visit with his van. For many residents, it brought back happy memories of summers gone by, proving you're never too old to enjoy a cone in the sunshine. πŸ¦πŸ’™

It's the simple moments like these that make summer at Marigold House so special.
