Great opportunity to learn a brilliant new skill and learn about Shetland's textile history. And we have plenty of books on both topics here in the library too!

Discover Drop Spinning and learn about Shetland textile history at Spin A Yarn with Fiona Hargreaves.

Learn to spin your first yarn on a drop spindle while exploring Shetland’s rich textile history. You will also have the chance to have a go on a muckle wheel and the opportunity to handle real and replica artefacts.

There is an additional £3 charge payable to the tutor on the day for materials.

Wednesday 18th November, 1800-2100 at Islesburgh Community Centre.

£19.15, or £11.56 concession.

Bookbug is taking a very short break next week.

This is to allow our wonderful Bookbug staff to attend training, so that we can keep on providing excellent sessions here in the library

The library will be open as usual and the Tuesday Bookbug will be back on November 3rd.

Tomorrow's learning lounge is focussed on making a felt decoration. If you get bitten by the crafting bug you could come and check out some books on felting at the library . Better yet, come to our Library Makers on Fridays, from 10-12!
