A Tree Charter for Lewes?
Inspired by the work of Love Our Ouse and "The Rights of Trees, Woodlands and Forests Toolkit" produced by the University of Sussex Environmental Justice Law Clinic, a group of arboriculturalists and conservationists formed a Rights of our Trees group, (ROOTs), to propose a Tree Charter that will protect the trees in the Arboretum Town of Lewes.
Find out more at Lewes Climate Hub, 32 High Street during the Friends of Lewes Heritage Open Days on Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th September, 10.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.
You may also enjoy the exhibition of "special trees" shared by member of our community.
Photograph shows the Three-needled Monterey Pines on the exit road from Waitrose, chosen by Lynda Durrant.
