💜 Congratulations to Grace Banham on receiving a prestigious British Citizen Award in recognition of her outstanding support for families affected by baby loss, birth trauma and maternal mental health challenges.

Following the loss of her daughter Violet eight years ago, Grace has dedicated herself to helping others, using her experience to raise awareness, support bereaved families and help shape services across Lancashire and South Cumbria.

From co-designing the Lancashire and South Cumbria Reproductive Trauma Service to helping develop peer support for those grieving the loss of a baby, Grace's compassion and commitment continue to make a real difference.

A truly deserved recognition. Thank you, Grace, for everything you do for families across our communities. 💜

An amber heat-health alert is now in place across the North West.

Hot weather can affect your health, especially if you are older, very young, or living with a long-term condition. It’s important to take a few simple steps to stay safe.

• Drink plenty of fluids
• Avoid the sun between 11am and 3pm
• Keep your home cool by closing curtains during the day
• Check in on family, friends and neighbours who may be at risk

By following this advice, you can reduce the risk of dehydration, heat exhaustion and heatstroke.
