ā˜€ļø You might spot something new at Blackbrook Barnsā€¦

New solar panels are now helping the local venue generate its own renewable electricity ā€“ one of several local businesses weā€™ve supported to make energy-saving improvements.

From solar panels at Blackbrook Barns, The Cathedral Hotel and Aspire Design, to smarter heating and refrigeration at The George Hotel and energy-efficient lighting at The Hub at St Maryā€™s, businesses are making practical changes to cut their energy use and running costs.

And together, these five projects are expected to save more than 22 tonnes of carbon every year šŸŒ±

More than Ā£72,000 has been awarded through our Energy Saving Scheme, helping local businesses invest in changes that make them more sustainable and resilient for the future.

Funded through the Governmentā€™s UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

This week: up on the roof at Lichfieldā€™s new cinema development šŸ‘€

The roof covering is going on and the new terrace is starting to take shape, with the frames in and glass now being fitted. More windows are also going in across the first floor, so the building is really starting to look and feel different.

Itā€™s another step forward in bringing the former Debenhams building back to life.

When itā€™s finished, it will be home to a new Everyman cinema, alongside new places to eat, drink and spend time ā€“ adding something new to everything Lichfield city centre already has to offer.

We want more people to choose Lichfield for a day out or an evening, stay for longer and spend with local businesses while theyā€™re here. This development is an important part of making that happen and supporting the city centre for the future.

And thereā€™s plenty more change to come over the next few weeksā€¦ Take a look at the latest progress on site šŸ‘‡

Do you recognise this man or vehicle?

Weā€™re asking for your help with an ongoing fly-tipping investigation in Alrewas.

Our surveillance cameras captured green waste and an old tarpaulin being dumped on Burton Road on 23 July, and our Environmental Protection Officers are trying to identify the man pictured.

Weā€™re also investigating a separate incident at the same location earlier in July, when slabs and building waste were dumped. A white Fiat Doblo Cargo van is suspected of being involved.

There are just a few tables remaining for this year's Proms in Beacon Park ā€“ perfect if you fancy enjoying the evening a little differently.

Positioned in front of the stage, tables are available for groups of four or six and come with your own dedicated area, table and tablecloth for the evening.

Bring your friends, decorate your table, pack your favourite food and drinks and host your own little Proms party ā€“ all with a fantastic view of the stage and the atmosphere of Beacon Park around youšŸ„‚šŸŽ¶

Whether you're celebrating something special or simply want to make a night of it, it's a great way to enjoy one of Lichfield's biggest summer events together.
