Lichfield District councillors got £3900 each as discretionary funds, as part of a “clean and Green“ strategy. The three councillors for Stowe Ward put their money together to make a small green haven out of a rather scruffy area of unused land, putting up bollards and benches and turfing and replanting.
It’s still work in progress, but Lib Dem counsellor Hugh Ashton, and Labour councillors Ann Hughes and Russ Bragger decided to test the benches this morning.
