Tragically, another life has been lost in the water in Lincolnshire.

Our thoughts and condolences are with their friends and family at this difficult time.

It’s a heart breaking reminder of the dangers of our waters here in the UK.

With the warm weather continuing this half term, our plea for everyone is to know your water safety.

Cold water shock can happen in seconds, and even the strongest of swimmers can still get into difficulty. The UK’s waters never get warm enough, even on the hottest of days, to stop this involuntary reaction.

If you’re struggling in the water, remember to FLOAT:
- Tilt your head back, submerging your ears.
- Relax and control your breathing.
- Move your hands and legs to help you stay afloat.
- Your legs may sink. That’s ok, everyone floats differently.
- Once calm, call for help

If you see someone struggling, avoid entering the water, tell them to FLOAT, call 999, and throw something that they can grab on to.

TODAY!! 10:00 till 1400 Lincoln North Fire Station are holding their charity car wash at the fire station on Nettleham Road 🚒🚒

On Wednesday 25 February, at around 18:30, our firefighters will be taking part in an exercise at Lincoln Central Car Park to test our plans when tackling high-rise buildings.

There may be some synthetic smoke and alarms. If you see this or hear this, please be assured that this is just a drill.

A big thanks to City of Lincoln Council for closing the upper stories of the car park for us to use safely. And, thank you to nearby residents for your patience while we carry out this exercise.

Tonight it is the turn of Birchwood for a visit from Santa. We are aiming to leave Lincoln South Fire Station at 18:30hrs, with our route starting at Skellingthorpe Road Shell Garage soon after.

Once again, we'll make lots and lots of noise to let you know we've arrived.

Santa is very excited to see you all. He has a very busy week ahead, so could do with as much festive cheer as you can give him to help fuel him and his reindeer!

🚨 Life-saving fire and rescue equipment stolen 🚨

Several Lincolnshire fire stations have been broken into over the past week, with specialist rescue equipment stolen. The similar methods used suggest a highly organised gang deliberately targeting fire stations.

This equipment is vital for rescuing people trapped in vehicles and missing tools could put lives at risk. There are also concerns the stolen equipment could be used for criminal purposes.

Please stay alert, especially to anyone impersonating a firefighter. Crews are usually accompanied by a fire engine and can show ID.

It's that time of year again. The big man is is coming back to Lincoln very soon!!

Santa will be touring with the crews on the following dates:

☃️ Tuesday 16th: Glebe Park and Tower Estate
❄️ Thursday 18th: Ermine West
🛷 Friday 19th: Ermine East
🚒 Saturday 20th: St Giles
🦌 Sunday 21st: Welton and Dunholme
🎅 Monday 22nd: Birchwood

Sant is aiming to leave the Lincoln North Fire Station at 17;00hrs each evening, but as always, he may be a little late depending on ongoing incidents.

All of the previous years routes remain the same, but we will post route maps as the dates get closer.
