Report crime or make a complaint online at https://www.lincs.police.uk/ or call 101. We reserve the right to remove comments and block you if we feel you offend, intimidate, hurt, or deliberately provoke specific people or groups of people. We welcome open debate; we welcome free speech that allows you to articulate their opinions without fear of retaliation. But we do not welcome discourse from a

nyone who does not respect and live by those same principles. We live in a society where freedom of speech is a right, but if you abuse that right you can expect to be sanctioned. If anything you post tips the balance towards hate speech – this is defined as anything public that expresses hate or encourages violence towards a person or group based on something such as race, religion, age, s*x, nationality, ethnicity, disability, or s*xual orientation – or that post anything that threatens, incites, or encourages hatred or violence in any way, we may record this as a crime and investigate you in the same way we would as if this had happened on the street. Be aware of what you post, be mindful of how others may receive it, and, above all, be kind to one another. Lincoln Police officers are working in partnership with local retailers to curb shoplifting and anti-social behaviour in the north of the city!

The Lincoln North Shop Watch is a project that aims to unite retailers by keeping them in contact with other stores as well as local police officers. Each store that chooses to opt into the scheme commits to the purchase of a radio, which can be used to instantly alert police of any unfolding shoplifting or ASB incidents. It can also be used by the retailers to warn other stores of known shoplifters that have been seen in the area.

Additionally, member shops will also receive alerts direct from the police when shoplifting suspects are identified and when banning notices are given.

Inspector Dan Gilmore, Neighbourhood Policing Inspector for the north of the city, said: "By getting the shops to work together there is a feeling of community between those retailers and a shared purpose in reducing crime and improving conditions on the ground for staff."

James Bowskill, aged 29, has been charged with eleven offences of fraud by false representation.

It’s alleged that Bowskill approaches people in Lincoln city centre, often young women on their own, and claims that he has lost his bank card but needs to get to Sheffield to see his child. It’s reported that Bowskill promises to transfer money back, often a larger amount, and that this money is not received.

Bowskill, of Belmont Street, Lincoln, appeared at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court for a first hearing today (22 May) where he was remanded into custody.

As you may have heard, Lincoln City FC are going up! 🙌👏⚽

9 May, 2.30-4pm, an open top bus parade will tour Lincoln to celebrate their league win and promotion. And we will be right there to celebrate with you. Our officers will be out in force and don’t be alarmed if you see armed officers and drones. This is all part of the plan to keep the city safe.

Roads in and car parks will be busy and if you are not joining the celebration, you might prefer to avoid Lincoln for the afternoon. There will be some travel disruption as some roads will be closed before and during the event.

There is a no-fly zone for drones over the event (link in comments for further details). It is a criminal offence to fly a drone over the parade or the crowds watching. We will be deploying drones to monitor the parade for safety reasons.

If you see anything suspicious or that you’re not happy about, come and speak to a friendly steward or police officer.

We are working together with the club, City of Lincoln Council, and Counter Terrorism Policing to make sure that this is a fun and safe event for everyone and we are proud to be a part of this.

If you’re heading out to mark the occasion, we will see you there! Enjoy it safely and make sure you’ve got a plan to get home.

Let’s keep it a day to remember for all the right reasons. 💙
