103-year-old Robbie talks about her experience on rations. It was a completely different world compared to our consumerist ways.

Take a minute to listen to Queenie Hall, an icon of her generation and all that succeed her.

They gave everything—and asked for nothing.

No recognition. No reward. Just sacrifice.

The least we can do is remember their names.

Honor them. Feel it. Carry it forward.

Plan your visit.

So sad to report the passing of George Dunn DFC Ld'H yesterday morning at the age of 103.

George was a pilot flying Halifaxes and Mosquitos, completing 44 operations with 10 & 76 Squadrons.

George did a huge amount to raise funds for both the London Memorial and the IBCC and was a passionate advocate for the remembrance of all those who served and supported Bomber Command.

He was interviewed for the IBCC Digital Archive i 2015. You can listen here:

Blue skies George. Thank you for your service and support.

Yesterday we were honoured and privileged to welcome three WW2 veterans with a combined age of 308!

Eddie Humes, Navigator, 514 Sqn and PoW.
Bert Hammond, Air Gunner, 514 Sqn
Robbie Hall, WAAF Plotter

Eddie was the sole survivor when their Lancaster was shot down over Belgium in 1944. He visits the IBCC as often as he can and always takes the time to mark his fellow crewmen on the Memorial Walls. Yesterday, Trustee and Losses Archivist, Dave Gilbert, was able to show Eddie his name on the Losses Database, alongside his crew. Eddie's name is the first such entry of a project to include those who survived crashes were there were losses. https://losses.internationalbcc.co.uk/loss/600000/

We were also joined by Ron Harrison who was celebrating his 90th birthday. Ron was a child in Hull during the bombing and recorded an interview for the Digital Archive. you can listen here https://ibccdigitalarchive.lincoln.ac.uk/collections/document/10254
