Cottage Road Dollingstown Resurfacing info;

Cottage Road, Dollingstown - works commencing!

Many will know I have been working on this issue, supporting and led by Cllr Peter Haire and I am really pleased to get confirmation of commencement date for this work. It will be all worth it in the end! This is a significant piece of work and resurfacing.

Big well done to our DUP team.๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

Great news for local residents and road users in Dollingstown!

I've been advised by DfI Roads that resurfacing works on Cottage Road are due to get underway on Monday 15 June, or as soon as possible thereafter.

This is something I have been working on alongside my DUP colleagues, Cllr Peter Haire and Cllr Stephen Moutray, and I'm pleased to see these much-needed improvements progressing.

Thank you to everyone who raised concerns about the condition of the road and for your patience while these works were arranged!๐Ÿ‘

On 8 August, the newly appointed District Officer for Northern Ireland Sea Cadets and the new Officer in Charge of Lisburn Sea Cadets Lisburn will be taking a huge leap โ€” quite literally! โœˆ๏ธ

Carol and Taylor are stepping out of their comfort zones and jumping from an aircraft to take part in a thrilling charity skydive, raising vital funds for Air Ambulance Northern Ireland, in support of my Mayoral Charity.

"I have spoken with the victim's parents who are immensely grateful for the outpouring of public support they have received since Monday night's attack.

They have asked the media to respect their privacy as their loved one remains in hospital receiving treatment for horrific injuries.
Hadi Alodid is appearing in court this morning charged with attempted murder, threats to kill an NHS radiographer and possession of a knife. It is important that legal due process is respected.

The unacceptable violence and destruction witnessed last night takes focus away from where it should be - expressing sympathy with the victim and seeking justice.

For several hours into late last night, myself and other DUP representatives were on the ground across Belfast and Newtownabbey engaging with the community, assisting residents impacted by disorder and appealing for calm. As I have done since news broke of Monday's attack, I call again for cool heads and reiterate that there is always an alternative to violence.

I also urge parents to beware of fake messages and AI-generated posters circulating today which are an attempt to goad young people into gathering at certain locations. Impacting local Schools, GP Surgeries and businesses in this way is never acceptable.

I will continue to give a voice for people who feel ignored on the issue of illegal immigration. Peaceful and democratic means is the only manner in which that can be addressed."

"We are completely devastated by the horrific attack on our loved one on Kinnaird Avenue. This has been a massive shock to our whole family, and right now, our only priority is being at his bedside and helping him recover.

โ€‹We want to say a profound thank you to the local people who bravely stepped in during the attack. Your quick actions absolutely saved his life, and we will never forget what you did for him in that moment. We also want to thank the emergency services and the doctors and nurses looking after him.

โ€‹We are aware of the tensions and talk of protests following this incident. We want to make it absolutely clear that overnight unrest is not welcome, and peaceful protest is the only way forward. We have many migrants who make a deeply valuable contribution to our country, including in our healthcare system and hospitality sector and we depend on them to make our country work. We do not want this terrible tragedy to be used to divide people or fuel hostility.

โ€‹We are asking the media and the public to please give us some space. We need privacy to focus on our family right now, without cameras or people speculating about what happened.

โ€‹If you know anything at all about the attack, or saw anything strange near Kinnaird Avenue, please go to the police.

โ€‹Thank you for respecting our privacy."
