Proud to see our RAF colleagues mark a special milestone. Air Cadets from across Northern Ireland joined The Princess Royal in County Fermanagh to celebrate the 85th anniversary of the Air Training Corps.

Her Royal Highness paid her respects at Commonwealth war graves in Irvinestown, where 86 airmen who died during the Second World War are laid to rest, before visiting Castle Archdale, the former RAF flying boat station central to the Battle of the Atlantic.
The visit closed with a flypast from a Royal Air Force Poseidon aircraft and the planting of a yew tree, marking 85 years of the Air Training Corps and the enduring ties between the RAF and County Fermanagh.

Proud to see our RAF colleagues, and the next generation of Air Cadets, honoured in this way.

At midday today, the skies above Hillsborough Castle echoed to the sound of a 21-gun salute fired in honour of Her Majesty Queen Camilla’s birthday. Delivered by 206 (Ulster) Battery, 105th Regim ent Royal Artillery, the salute saw 21 rounds fired at 10-second intervals. Proudly known as the Ulster Gunners, the battery was honoured to mark the special royal occasion in Northern Ireland.

On this day in 1916, the 36th (Ulster) Division went over the top at the Somme as part of one of the First World War’s largest offensives, displaying extraordinary courage in the face of unimaginable conditions.

In the opening days of the battle, thousands of young men lost their lives. Their fellow Irishmen of the 16th (Irish) Division later joined the fighting in September, also suffering thousands of casualties.

Today, we remember all those who fought and fell at the Somme and honour the sacrifice of every man who served alongside them.
Their courage and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

Heads turned and hearts swelled as a legendary Dakota aircraft soared over Coleraine during Armed Forces Day. This iconic piece of aviation history gracing the skies was a breathtaking tribute to those who serve and continue to serve.

What an incredible sight it was as the RAF Falcons Parachute Display Team descended into Coleraine, delivering a spectacular display of skill and precision. Thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate Armed Forces Day.
