SHOUT! Our volunteer crew were tasked at 7.39pm yesterday following reports of a paddleboarder in difficulty 200m-400m off the coast of East Preston. Our crew, on our Atlantic 85 lifeboat Renee Sherman, searched for over an hour from East Preston to West Beach, but all was well.

Everyone at Littlehampton RNLI Lifeboat Station has been deeply saddened by the tragic loss of life near Shoreham fort earlier this week. The friends and family of those involved are foremost in our thoughts - the whole of the RNLI family grieves with you. We are also thinking of all the emergency responders from multiple agencies who were tasked during the incident.

To our colleagues at Shoreham RNLI Lifeboat Station: we know you, we value you, we are here for you - your courage and commitment is immense. 💛

A massive THANK YOU to EVERYONE who came to visit Littlehampton RNLI Lifeboat Station for our open day today. It was great to meet so many of you and welcome our colleagues from RNLI Selsey Lifeboat station so that onlookers could see three lifeboats in the harbour at the same time. The boat house was full of action with a bouncy castle, face painting and hook a duck activities for our youngest supporters and tea and cake for all. Thank you for all your support now and always - enabling us to continue RNLI😎

There’s just one more sleep until our Lifeboat Station Open Day! The fun starts tomorrow (16 August) at 11am.

But if you can’t wait until then, head on down to the Littlehampton Harbour Board Waterfront Festival, which kicks off today. There’ll be lots of activities to see and do, including Sompting Village Morris who will be performing outside our lifeboat station at 10.30am this morning. Our wonderful fundraising crew will also have a stall by the river selling lots of lovely RNLI goodies.

SHOUT! Our D-Class lifeboat Spirit of Fidelity was in action yesterday afternoon.

Our volunteer crew were asked to join the lifeguards on Littlehampton East Beach who were searching for a missing child. Thankfully, the child was found safe and well by the lifeguards.

Littlehampton lifeboat crews work together with their fellow volunteers from Shoreham RNLI Lifeboat Station and RNLI Selsey Lifeboat on a regular basis . Training is an important part of this co-ordination. In this reel our Atlantic 85 crew were practising crew transfer from the Shoreham Tamar all weather lifeboat. Thanks to our Shoreham colleague Steve Lintern for recording the training.
