INTELLIGENCE LED STRIKE โ€“ DRUGS & CASH SEIZED! ๐Ÿšจ

Officers from Normanton SNT have delivered a fantastic result following an intelligence-led stop on a vehicle linked to suspected drug dealing in the Normanton & Stockbrook areas.
๐Ÿ‘ฎโ€โ™‚๏ธ What happened?

PCs stopped a vehicle with two males inside
A search uncovered:

๐Ÿ’ธ A large amount of cash
๐Ÿ“ฑ Multiple mobile phones
๐Ÿ’Š Drugs found on one of the males

Both individuals were arrested on suspicion of PWITS (Possession With Intent to Supply) โ€“ this means having drugs not for personal use, but to sell or distribute to others.
๐Ÿ  But it didnโ€™t stop thereโ€ฆ
Officers carried out a Section 18 search at a linked address, where they located:

๐Ÿ’Š More Class A drugs
๐Ÿ’ธ Further large amounts of cash
โš–๏ธ Drug scales linked to dealing

๐Ÿ”ฅ An outstanding result for the team โ€“ disrupting drug activity and making our community safer! ๐Ÿ”ฅ
๐Ÿ‘ Huge credit to the officers involved for their proactive work and commitment to tackling drug crime in our area.
๐Ÿ‘€ Keep a look out for tomorrowโ€™s postโ€ฆ
Weโ€™ll be out in force for our E-scooter enforcement day!

๐Ÿš“ Community Catch Up Event

Last night, officers from Abbey Safer Neighbourhood Team held a Community Catch Up Event at Churchside Walk.

We also appreciate the attendance of a representative from the Derby Homes ASB Team, whose involvement plays an important role in tackling local concerns.

These events provide residents with the opportunity to speak directly with local policing teams and partner agencies about issues affecting their area, helping us to work together to keep our communities safe.

๐Ÿ“… Reminder: Community Catch Up takes place on the first Friday of every month 4pm to 6pm โ€” we encourage residents to come along and get involved.

Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed. Your input is invaluable.

๐Ÿšจ Community Notice for Parents & Guardians ๐Ÿšจ

Weโ€™ve recently seen a noticeable increase in young people using E-Scooters across our area. While we understand the appeal, we are becoming increasingly concerned about the way some of these scooters are being used.
Many of the riders we encounter are underage and are unaware that:

Privately owned E-Scooters are not legal to use on public roads, pavements, or public spaces.
Failing to stop when requested by police, or riding away, may result in traffic-related offences being committed.
Riding without due care or consideration can also put the rider and others at serious risk of injury.

Weโ€™re asking parents and guardians to please:

โœ… Speak to your children about the rules surrounding E-Scooter use
โœ… Make them aware of the legal implications and their responsibilities
โœ… Ensure they understand the importance of listening to police instructions if approached

Our aim is to keep everyone safe, not to criminalise young people. However, continued misuse may lead to enforcement action, we will be seizing the scooters and further consequences.

Thank you for your support in helping keep our community safe.

We would like to make local residents aware of recent incidents of burglary during the day. Itโ€™s easy to forget that thieves can quickly target an open window or door, and be in and out of your property before you realise.

With the hot weather it's natural to open up windows and doors to let out some of the warm air, unfortunately with that it presents an easy opportunity for thieves. This week we have had several confirmed burglaries where the offender(s) has gained access via an open window or door and taken items within.

Make sure you deny the thieves any easy opportunities:

๐Ÿก If youโ€™re out in the back garden, close any windows at the front of the house and lock the front door, as you may not hear someone coming through an open window or door at the front.
๐Ÿ”‘ Keep your valuables safe and hidden, and store keys in a safe place out of sight.
๐Ÿšช If you leave the house for any reason, make sure all doors and windows are closed and locked properly.
๐ŸŒป Keep your garden secure and fit a garden gate lock to stop thieves snooping around unseen at the back of your house.
๐Ÿชœ Keep tools and ladders locked away. Make sure your shed is secure.
๐ŸŒฒ Simple landscaping like a gravel path or thorny shrubs can also act as a deterrent.
๐Ÿš— And donโ€™t forget to secure your car in warm weather โ€“ donโ€™t leave windows open, doors unlocked, or have valuables on display.

Many thanks,
Sam 12829
