We would like to make local residents aware of recent incidents of burglary during the day. Itโ€™s easy to forget that thieves can quickly target an open window or door, and be in and out of your property before you realise.

With the hot weather it's natural to open up windows and doors to let out some of the warm air, unfortunately with that it presents an easy opportunity for thieves. This week we have had several confirmed burglaries where the offender(s) has gained access via an open window or door and taken items within.

Make sure you deny the thieves any easy opportunities:

๐Ÿก If youโ€™re out in the back garden, close any windows at the front of the house and lock the front door, as you may not hear someone coming through an open window or door at the front.
๐Ÿ”‘ Keep your valuables safe and hidden, and store keys in a safe place out of sight.
๐Ÿšช If you leave the house for any reason, make sure all doors and windows are closed and locked properly.
๐ŸŒป Keep your garden secure and fit a garden gate lock to stop thieves snooping around unseen at the back of your house.
๐Ÿชœ Keep tools and ladders locked away. Make sure your shed is secure.
๐ŸŒฒ Simple landscaping like a gravel path or thorny shrubs can also act as a deterrent.
๐Ÿš— And donโ€™t forget to secure your car in warm weather โ€“ donโ€™t leave windows open, doors unlocked, or have valuables on display.

Many thanks,

๐Ÿš“ Safer Neighbourhood Team โ€“ Mini Police Update ๐Ÿ‘ฎโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿ‘ฎโ€โ™€๏ธ

This week, our Safer Neighbourhood Team were proud to deliver another engaging session with our fantastic Mini Police cohort.

Following on from last weekโ€™s input from our colleagues in SOCO/CSI, this session gave the Mini Police the opportunity to put their new knowledge into practice. Officers created a mock crime scene, allowing the children to carry out their own investigation and search for forensic evidence.

The Mini Police demonstrated excellent enthusiasm, attention to detail, and teamwork whilst working through the scenario โ€“ just like real officers and forensic investigators.

Itโ€™s great to see their confidence and understanding continue to grow each week. Well done to everyone involved! ๐Ÿ‘

๐Ÿš” Community Update โ€“ Rykneld Park Patrols ๐Ÿš”

Today, officers from The Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) have continued to carry out high-visibility patrols in Rykneld Park following recent reports of anti-social behaviour in the area.

These patrols form part of our ongoing commitment to keeping local open spaces safe and reassuring for the community. Officers have been actively engaging with park users and monitoring activity, and we are pleased to report that no ASB has been identified during recent patrols.

Other days during patrols, officers have encountered a small number of individuals who had wandered into the area from elsewhere and were subsequently dispersed, helping to prevent any potential issues within the park.

We will continue to maintain a visible presence in the area to deter any anti-social behaviour and ensure the park remains a safe and welcoming environment for everyone.

If you experience or witness any anti-social behaviour, please report it to us so we can take appropriate action.

โœ… Thank you for your continued support
