Littleover and Blagreaves Police neighbourhood team have had two reports in recent days of nuisance motorbike(s) and E-scooters riding circuits around Windsor Avenue, Carlisle Avenue and King George V Playing fields in the evening. Currently there is little descriptions of the bikes or the riders, where they might store the vehicles and so on.

Officers from Littleover and Blagreaves neighbourhood team will be patrolling the park when on lates to identify those involved and deter this anti-social behaviour.

Nuisance motorbikes on green spaces reoccurs every year, across every ward and suburb of Derby, however we are keen to nip it in the bud as best we can, and as we have done in previous years, before summer begins.

Social media comments around nuisance motorbikes are contentious, but the fact is; all of these bikes are being driven dangerously by young people; who will not have had lessons, a licence or insurance, have a detrimental effect on the communities quality of life and, in some cases, are often stolen.

If you have any information on where the bikes may be located, anyone involved or descriptions of either then please contact us via 101, or the online live chat below:

We would like to make local residents aware of recent incidents of burglary during the day. It’s easy to forget that thieves can quickly target an open window or door, and be in and out of your property before you realise.

With the hot weather it's natural to open up windows and doors to let out some of the warm air, unfortunately with that it presents an easy opportunity for thieves. This week we have had several confirmed burglaries where the offender(s) has gained access via an open window or door and taken items within.

Make sure you deny the thieves any easy opportunities:

🏡 If you’re out in the back garden, close any windows at the front of the house and lock the front door, as you may not hear someone coming through an open window or door at the front.
🔑 Keep your valuables safe and hidden, and store keys in a safe place out of sight.
🚪 If you leave the house for any reason, make sure all doors and windows are closed and locked properly.
🌻 Keep your garden secure and fit a garden gate lock to stop thieves snooping around unseen at the back of your house.
🪜 Keep tools and ladders locked away. Make sure your shed is secure.
🌲 Simple landscaping like a gravel path or thorny shrubs can also act as a deterrent.
🚗 And don’t forget to secure your car in warm weather – don’t leave windows open, doors unlocked, or have valuables on display.

Many thanks,

| Crime prevention advice issued following suspected burglaries in Derby

We are encouraging residents to please follow our crime prevention advice following a series of suspected burglaries in Derby.

Two incidents have been reported to us in which residents living in houses of multiple occupation (HMO) have had items stolen.

As a result we are encouraging people who live in shared housing and who have locks to their rooms to make sure they are secure when not in use.

We would also like to remind people living in HMOs/shared properties to ensure the main door to the property is shut and locked when not in use.

Residents are also asked to ensure windows are closed and secured when they are not using them.

This week we have had a report of a nuisance motorbike being driven in an anti-social manner in Mickleover, specifically around The Hollow. On several occasions it has been seen with a rider and a pillion passenger, seemingly doing laps before returning to The Hollow.

Regrettably we do not have a complete description of the bike or riders, except that it was small, not typical for a motorbike, and very noisy. The riders were potentially both males of school age and wearing balaclavas. One incident was noted at night time on the 7th May, and the second on the morning of the 8th May, possibly around 11:30.

We are keen for any information around either the riders or the bike. Typically these bikes tend to be stolen and stored in the community, so if you do see one on greenspaces and parks please let us know through the options below. Stopping these motorbikes, which tend to stick to footpaths and greenspaces, is difficult but we have a range of options available to us, and your information can make all the difference.

If you have any information that will support us it will be treated in confidence and can be reported below:

On Patrol with one of our Neighbourhood team officers
