Another wet morning here at the allotments. If you can brave the weather you’re welcome to come and harvest some free food we have been growing. If foraging is for you we have a lovely mixed hedge line full of nuts, berries and rose hips too. The apples and pears are ready in the orchard if you’d like to pick some. As always produce is seasonal check out the pictures for some of them available today. Open every Wednesday 8:30am-11:30am 🍎🥒🌽🌰

🌿 Tuesday Sessions at St Mark’s Community Garden 🦋

Our Tuesday sessions, hosted here at St Mark’s by the wonderful team from Lancashire Wildlife Trust, have been a fantastic opportunity to get outdoors, learn, explore and enjoy the natural world together. 🌱🐝

We’re now taking a little summer break, but we’ll be back and ready to welcome everyone again in September!

🌿 Exciting News! 🌿

St Mark’s Church and Community Garden is delighted to be hosting Lancashire Wildlife Trust in partnership with Riverside Housing for an exciting 12-week community project.

The project will make use of a variety of local green spaces to create and enhance wildlife habitats, helping to connect key sites including the Liverpool Loop Line, The Walled Garden, and St Mark’s Community Garden. We hope this will be the catalyst for future green space development across the Belle Vale Ward, benefiting both wildlife and the local community.

This first session will introduce the project, explore the plans, and provide an opportunity for local residents, volunteers, and community groups to get involved from the very beginning. Your ideas and input will help shape this exciting initiative.

Everyone is welcome – come along, find out more, and be part of creating a greener, more wildlife-friendly Belle Vale for future generations.

Community Notice

Please note that we will be taking a short break this week, so there will be no community session on Thursday 28th May 2026.

From next week onwards, our sessions will move to Wednesdays instead of Thursdays. Our new meeting time will be:

Wednesdays, 8:30am – 11:30am
Starting from Wednesday 3rd June 2026.
