TOMATO ENERGY CUSTOMERS: Important Update About Your Energy Supply

If your business was supplied by Tomato Energy, here's what you need to know:

On 10th November 2025, all Tomato Energy customers were transferred to British Gas following Tomato Energy's administration. Ofgem's protective process meant your energy supply continued without interruption โœ…

BUT โ€” and this is important โ€” you're now on "deemed rates" which are temporary, expensive pricing.

Here's the reality:
๐Ÿ’ฐ Deemed rates are 50-70% HIGHER than competitive fixed contracts
โฑ๏ธ You can switch immediately with ZERO exit fees
๐Ÿคท 90% of businesses don't realise this opportunity exists

This could mean:
โ€ข Small business paying ยฃ200/month could drop to ยฃ100-ยฃ140/month
โ€ข Medium business could save ยฃ2,000-ยฃ5,000+ per year
โ€ข Large business savings could be even more significant

DON'T accept deemed rates as your new normal. You have options.

We've published a complete guide explaining:
โœ“ What happened and why
โœ“ What you're actually paying
โœ“ How to switch to better deals
โœ“ Real savings examples for your business size

The first step is understanding your options. That guide will take you 10 minutes and could save your business thousands.

If you're affected, share this with your business network. This information matters.

The inevitable has happened: Tomato Energy has officially ceased trading.

After months desperately seeking investor backing with no success, they've made the call to wind down entirely. Ofgem's now managing the transition of 14,000 customers through the Supplier of Last Resort process.

But here's what's interesting about this one...

The CEO was brutally honest in his shutdown announcement: "We didn't have the capital to support operations in this market."

Not a product problem. Not a customer service problem. Not even a market timing problem.

A capital problem.

When you don't have enough cash reserves to absorb wholesale volatility and regulatory enforcement, you're playing a losing game. This is the hard truth the energy sector refuses to acknowledge: you can execute flawlessly and still fail if your balance sheet isn't built for this market.

Since 2021, 40+ suppliers have exited. Most for the same reason.

For businesses choosing an energy supplier right now: financial stability > price. Always.

Yes, that extra pence per unit stings. But a supplier collapse costs infinitely more.

๐Ÿšจ Gas Prices Hit Highest Level Since February 2023 โ€“ Whatโ€™s Next? ๐Ÿšจ
If your business energy contract is up for renewal in the next 3 months, todayโ€™s market update is a wake-up call:

๐Ÿ“ˆ Gas Prices: Up 6.42% overnight โ€“ now at their highest level since 14/02/2023
โšก Electricity Prices: Up 18% in a day โ€“ lower renewables pushing costs higher

๐Ÿ”Ž Whatโ€™s Driving the Surge?

๐Ÿ”ฅ Cold Weather & Low Wind Output โ€“ More demand, less renewable generation
๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ด Norwegian Gas Supply Issues โ€“ Key fields still restricted, limiting UK imports
๐Ÿ“‰ Storage Concerns Growing โ€“ EU reserves at 55%, Ukraine near critical levels

๐Ÿ’ก What This Means for Your Business:

Prices are climbing, and waiting could cost you more. If your contract ends in the next few months, locking in a rate now could protect your business from even bigger increases.

โณ Are you prepared? Donโ€™t wait until itโ€™s too lateโ€”letโ€™s review your options today.
