Over the Bank Holiday weekend our officers dealt with a number of incidents in and around Sefton’s beaches and coastlines.

This week, we will have additional patrols in the area and continue to work with our partner agencies such as Sefton Council, National Trust, HM Coastguard and RNLI to prevent crime and encourage people to enjoy the coastline and beaches safely.

🚨 Our officers and other emergency services need space on the roads to get their vehicles to incidents, so please remember to park responsibly and avoid blocking roads and driveways.

It is also really important to check the tides and lifeguard advice before entering the water. Remember RNLI’s ‘Float to Live’ if you find yourself getting into difficulty in the water.

If you need to report anything to us, please message Merseyside Police Contact Centre or 📞 call 101. In an emergency always call 999.

We want everyone to enjoy the nice weather, but do so responsibly | ☀️

Thank you to those who parked and acted responsibly when visiting the Sefton Coast over the Bank Holiday weekend. Unfortunately, some did not act with respect towards residents, fellow visitors and Sefton's coastline.

We love it when you share your nature adventures at Formby with us.

Here’s a great couple clips of a couple of red squirrels doing their famous mating chase up a tree.

Red squirrels usually have two breeding seasons each year: one in late winter (around January to March) and another in early summer (around May to July), depending on food availability and the weather.

Males chase females through the trees in energetic courtship displays.

Rare squirrels roam wild and free right across the site and local area. They tend to be quite solitary and shy hence why spotting one is never guaranteed but a real delight when it happens.

🎥 Thank you to Catherine who took a wander recently and was lucky enough to capture these videos.

Keep yourselves and the nation's forests safe in the sun 🌡️

Did you know that it can take up to 48 hours for the ashes from a disposable barbecue to cool down completely?

One careless action could impact the environment for decades to come.

Leave your BBQs at home, skip the campfire, and make sure ci******es are disposed of properly. If you spot a wildfire, call 999 right away ⚠️

Inflatables are great for the pool, but they’re not safe for the sea.

Even in light winds, they can quickly drift you out to sea and put you in danger.

If you’re heading to the beach this bank holiday, leave inflatables at home and save them for the pool instead.

In an emergency at the coast, call 999 and ask for the Coastguard.
