Liverpool Green councillor used his first motion to Liverpool City Council to call for action on .

The “clear and practical roadmap” commits the council to: review the risks, protect tenants and workers, design better buildings and green spaces, and test local “cool spaces” and explore community funding options.

We were grateful to get cross-party support for something that hits the most vulnerable first and hardest

Green councillors in Liverpool are bringing a motion to the council urging them to plan for extreme heat. Wildfires are just one visible effect of global warming. We need to deal with this as though our lives depend on it, because they do 💚

That smell is wildfires in Wales and Greater Manchester. Our River Mersey is barely visible from the smoke. Folks with health conditions are rightfully worried.

This is what climate change looks like and no amount of air con will solve that. We need to rapidly reduce our use of fossil fuels, and invest in green jobs in Liverpool and across the UK right now.

Solidarity to those fighting wildfires and fleeing their homes 💚
