This June, our cadets along with cadets from 7f and 1908 had the privilege of attending our annual Normandy Camp,a 10-day journey to commemorate the D-Day Landings and honour those who fought for our freedom.
Throughout the camp, they visited the D-Day beaches, museums, memorials, and historic battle sites, bringing history to life in a way that simply can't be experienced in a classroom.
Our cadets were proud to take part in several commemorative parades, including:
• Arromanches Parade (Gold Beach)
• British Normandy Memorial Parade (Ver-sur-Mer)
• Colleville-Montgomery Parade
• Brévands Parade
• RAF Memorial Service (Omaha Beach)
Normandy Camp is an unforgettable experience that gives cadets a deeper understanding of the events of D-Day and the pivotal role they played in shaping the outcome of the Second World War. Most importantly, it provides the opportunity to meet and thank the veterans of the landings, while remembering and paying tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.
Lest we forget.
