♻️ Repair, reuse and waste less – right here in Liverpool

A community project at St Mark’s Church is helping local families discover practical ways to reduce waste and make the most of the things they already have.

Thanks to an £8,000 grant from the Merseyside Recycling and Waste Authority Zero Waste Community Fund, St Stephen’s PCC is delivering the St Mark’s Waste Less Community Programme.

From Repair Cafés and mending workshops to school uniform swaps, composting sessions and cookery activities focused on using leftovers, the project is putting waste reduction into practice. 🔧👕🌱

There’s even a community tool library, helping residents share equipment rather than buying things they may only use occasionally.

Most importantly, the project is learning from the community itself – testing different ideas and discovering what can make a real difference to families’ everyday habits.

A community-led initiative has launched in Liverpool to help residents reduce household waste, save money, and build practical repair skills.
