This October, St George's Hall is proud to host Mandela8 and Liverpool's Mandela Story, highlighting ten years of Mandela8's work in collaboration with L8 communities and in partnership with funders and organisations.

Over the past decade, the charity has campaigned against racism, contributed to community development in the city, and championed international causes.

As part of Black History Month, the exhibition raises awareness of Liverpool's long history of Black settlement, shaped by the city's trade links with Africa and the Americas in the eighteenth century. It also explores the growth of Black activism in Liverpool, the fight against apartheid in South Africa, and the Free Nelson Mandela campaign.
