தமிழ் இன அழிப்பு முள்ளிவாய்க்காலில் உச்சந்தொட்டு இன்றுடன் 17 ஆண்டுகள் நிறைவடைகின்றது. தமிழ் இன அழிப்புச் செயன்முறை ஒரு நூற்றாண்டுக்கு மேற்பட்ட வரலாற்று பரிணாமத்தை கொண்டது. பேரரசுக் கட்டமைப்பின் புவிசார் நலன்களுக்காகவும், சிங்கள-பௌத்த பேரினவாத ஏகாதிபத்தியத்தை தக்க வைப்பதற்காகவும், கூட்டு தமிழ் இன அரசியல் வேணவாவை, அதன் ஆயுத பரிமாணத்தை தமிழ் இன அழிப்பிற் கூடாக முடிவுக்கு கொண்டு வந்ததன் மாயையை முள்ளிவாய்க்காலிலும் புலம்பெயர் தேசங்களிலும் நிகழும் தமிழ் இன அழிப்பு நினைவு கூரல் தகர்த்து எறிகின்றது.
உங்களிடம் அரசுண்டு. அதை கட்டிக்காக்க அனைத்தும் உண்டு.
ஆனாலும் என்ன செய்ய? நீங்கள் எங்களை வெற்றிகொண்டதாய் மார்தட்டிக்கொள்ளும் நிகழ்வை வலிந்துதான் திணிக்க வேண்டியிருக்கிறது.
ஆனால் பாருங்கள், நாங்கள் அடைந்தது பெரும்தோல்விதான். நாங்கள் சதிகளாலும், சூழ்ச்சியலும்,ஷெர்ஷேஷ்களாலும் (Xerxes) தோற்கடிக்கப்பட்ட கதையை பல கோடி பேர்களாய் இணைந்து உலகம் முழுவதும் ஒவ்வொரு வருடமும் நினைவேந்துகிறோம். வரலாற்றில் எம் தோல்வியையும் - நீதி வேண்டியதன் நியாயத்தையும் ஆழ விதைக்கிறோம். அது என்றோ ஒரு நாள் விருட்சமாகும் என்கிற நம்பிக்கை மலைகளை விட வலிதானதாய் எம் முன் நிற்கிறது.
அது ஒரு பண்பாடாக, மரபாக எம்முள் ஊறிக்கொண்டிருக்கிறது.
மகாவம்ச காலத்திலிருந்து எங்களை வெற்றி கொண்டதாய் நீங்கள் கட்டமைத்திருக்கும் வெற்றிவாதத்தை யாரும் கண்டுகொள்கிறார்கள் இல்லையே..! ஏன் என்று என்றாவது நீங்கள் யோசித்ததுண்டா? வரலாற்றிலும், நாளாந்த இயங்குதலிலும் வெற்றி மமதையால் மூடப்பட்டிருக்கும் நீங்கள் அது குறித்தெல்லாம் சிந்திக்கமாட்டீர்கள். அதற்கான பதிலையும் நாங்களே சொல்லிவிட்டும் போகிறோம்.
இந்த வெற்றி உங்களுடையதல்ல. அது ஒன்பதற்கும் மேற்பட்ட நாடுகளுடையது. "உழைத்து உண்ணும் உணவே உடம்பில் ஒட்டும்" என்பதைப்போல நீங்கள் அடைந்த வெற்றிகளும்....நீங்கள் பின்னிய சூழ்ச்சியும், சதியும் அந்த வெற்றியை பறித்துக்கொண்டோடிவிடும் காண்பீர்.

Seventeen years have passed since the genocide of the Tamil people reached its peak at Mullivaikkal. The process of Tamil genocide carries a historical evolution spanning more than a century. For the geopolitical interests of imperial structures and to preserve Sinhala-Buddhist majoritarian domination, the collective political will of the Tamil nation — including its armed dimension — was brought to an end through genocidal means. Yet, the remembrance events held at Mullivaikkal and across the Tamil diaspora continue to shatter the illusion that this struggle was permanently erased.
You have a state. You possess every mechanism needed to protect and sustain it.
Yet what can you do? You are compelled to forcefully impose events that celebrate your so-called “victory” over us.
But look closely — ours was indeed a great defeat. Every year, joined by millions across the world, we remember the story of how we were defeated through conspiracies, betrayals, and powers like Xerxes. We deeply sow into history both our defeat and the justice of our cause. Before us stands a belief stronger than mountains — that one day, this seed will grow into a mighty tree.
It is slowly becoming a culture, a tradition, deeply absorbed into our collective consciousness.
From the era of the Mahavamsa onward, you have constructed a narrative of triumph over us. Yet no one truly accepts that triumphalist narrative. Have you ever wondered why? Those intoxicated by the arrogance of victory — both in history and in everyday political life — seldom stop to reflect on such questions. But we shall leave behind the answer ourselves.
This victory is not yours alone. It belongs to more than nine nations. Just as only the food earned through honest labour truly nourishes the body, the victories you claim — woven through conspiracy and deceit — will one day slip away from you.
