⭐Our Pathways Through Play team will be visiting St Ninians Library!⭐

Come and join our play worker team for a free family play session with your little one (0-4 years old). Activities include songs, storytelling and even some sensory play!🧸🌈

PLEASE READ: As this play session is to allow families to have time to play, talk and read together. This means that unfortunately we cannot accommodate visits from childcare settings such as nurseries, play groups and child minders.

Today we’re recommending something a little different from a book… Upstart Scotland! 💛

Upstart Scotland is a campaign promoting play, creativity and childhood, and they have lots of lovely conversations and resources exploring why play matters for children.

We love anything that gets children talking, listening, imagining and creating stories, because literacy isn’t just about sitting down with a book. 📖✨

Sometimes it starts with a conversation.
A made-up story.
A silly game.
A question.
Or simply listening to someone else’s story. 💛

We’re delighted to be putting on two FREE evenings exploring trauma-informed parenting — with practical, informative guidance that you can take away and use in everyday life.

Whether you’re a parent, carer, family member, childcare professional, teacher, or simply interested in understanding children and young people a little better, you’re very welcome. 💚

✨ What to expect:
• Understanding trauma and its impact
• Looking at behaviour through a trauma-informed lens
• Practical strategies you can use at home, school or in the community
• Space to learn, reflect and ask questions
• Information you can take away and put into practice

📅 Both evenings must be attended as the sessions build on each other.

📖💚 GRANNY GRUFFALO IS HERE! 💚📖

It’s finally been released! 🥹✨

After work today, Archie and I sat down for a very important BookBox Scotland reading session… and I was SO excited to finally get to read Granny Gruffalo! 🐾📚

And Archie’s verdict? A big paws up! 🐶💚

He was very invested in the story, particularly when Granny Gruffalo appeared, and happily sat beside me for the whole thing. Although, admittedly, he was slightly more interested in trying to eat the pages than I was expecting. 😂📖

I’ve been so excited for this book to be released and I can’t wait for everyone else to get their copies, read it and tell us what you think!
