✨ PROMOTION ALERT ✨

Last week we were delighted to host OC SESW, Wing Commander McAdam, and our Wing Staff Officer, Sqn Ldr Sandison for the evening!

Their visit was a monumental moment in Flt Sgt Amelia Martin’s cadet career as she was appointed as Cadet Warrant Officer following a successful board interview 🥳 🎉

CWO is the highest rank you can achieve as a cadet, and it is excellent recognition of years of hard work, dedication and passion from CWO Martin 🙌

CWO Martin will continue to lead her NCO team on Sqn, be the main liaison between the cadets and the staff team, as well as working with her counterparts across the wing to keep delivering exceptional experiences for our young people!

Congratulations CWO Amelia Martin - we’re all so proud of you 🤩

Last week we were delighted to host a special visitor to the Sqn - Sqn Ldr Robert Sandison, who by day is an emergency SORT Paramedic 🚨

Sqn Ldr Sandison gave cadets and staff a super informative presentation, covering all aspects of his day job, showcasing the vast amount of equipment he has to carry and what it’s used for!

A particular highlight of the night was the opportunity to try on specialist equipment and experience being in the hot seat of the emergency ambulance car 🚑 ..

It was a nice change of pace to our usual training programme and a really enjoyable experience for everyone!

Massive thanks to Sqn Ldr Sandison for giving up his time 🤩

***CADET SHOUT OUT***

Super proud to share this post of appreciation for our very own Sgt Henry Martin - giving up his free time to support in the restoration project for the Livingston Village War Memorial.

A community led project, for a very worthy cause. A small token of thanks, giving up a few hours for those who gave up so much more for us.

Check out the before & after photos - what a great job by the whole team 🤩…

The sun was shining today as our cadets joined forces with others from South East and Central Scotland Wings to support the last of the home Six Nations games for Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

A day made more special by the opportunity to meet and chat with Commandant Air Cadets and our Regional Commandant 🤩

We even had two staff members supporting today… Fun fact: the last time they were on the pitch together in uniform, they were cadets themselves 🙊

Superb turn out, and great result for Scotland 🥳

We are super delighted to congratulate our very own Fg Off Chelsea Rennie who is the winner of the Air Cadet East Region CARA for 2024 🥳

A CARA is a very special, meaningful award as it’s voted for by our cadets to recognise the hard work and dedication of our adult volunteers!

Fg Off Rennie is an integral part of our staff team and we’re so grateful for all that she does for the Sqn 🤩

Well done ma’am - a very well deserved award 👏🏼
