Llandovery Fire & Rescue Station The fire station is crewed by retained (on call) firefighters.

Llandovery Fire Station’s community area has an approximate population of 6,000; much of this is made up of outlying rural areas including farms and villages including the communities of Llangadog, Llanwrda, Rhandirmwyn, Cilycwm and Crugybar. Their Rescue Pump type Fire Appliance has the capability of dealing with all types of incidents which can present themselves. The main risks for Llandovery a

nd its surrounding communities are the busy, main A40 trunk road which links West Wales with the Midlands and a large mixture of Country & B roads. Other significant risks include farming and associated agricultural industries and the rivers which surround the area can be susceptible to flooding on occasions.

⚠️🌧️🌨️ Met Office have issued an AMBER WARNING for our area today from 20:00 through to 09:00 tomorrow morning as Storm Goretti approaches.

Rain has been forecast to turn to heavy snow (10-15cm) and along with strong winds, will potentially make travelling conditions difficult.

Please pre-plan any journeys and check rail and bus routes.

Check on changing conditions via local media groups such as Love Llandovery, Llangadog Matters and Community Support, Travel Alerts for Carmarthenshire (Rhybuddion Teithio Sir Gâr)

🌧️🌨️ Rain associated with incoming Storm Goretti tomorrow (8/01/26) has the potential of turning to heavy snow.

⚠️ A YELLOW WARNING has been declared by the Met Office due to this, with the warning remaining in place up into Friday (9/01/26).

🥶 Accumulations of up to 10-15cm are predicted, along with strong winds.

🌧️⚠️ STORM BRAM is currently affecting our local area with continual rain and strong winds.

Already, there is some localised flooding on roadways around Llandovery and some trees have been reported as being down.

Check your routes and be sure to keep up to date with changing situations on local media such as Love Llandovery, Cyfoeth Naturiol Cymru / Natural Resources Wales, Llangadog Matters and Community Support

Allow extra time for any journeys and be aware of flooding whilst driving during the darkness.

It’s expected to lead to flooding and disruption across Wales.

A Met Office Amber warning for rain is in place for parts of South Wales from midnight (00:00) until 10am on Tuesday (December 9).

It covers:
⚠️Blaenau Gwent
⚠️Bridgend
⚠️Caerphilly
⚠️Carmarthenshire
⚠️Merthyr Tydfil
⚠️Monmouthshire
⚠️Neath Port Talbot
⚠️Powys
⚠️Rhondda Cynon Taf
⚠️Swansea
⚠️Torfaen

A Yellow warning for rain for Wales is in force from 6pm today until 2pm tomorrow with a Yellow warning for wind covering large parts of Wales from 10pm today until 4pm tomorrow.

We expect to see a number of flood alerts and flood warnings issued on Monday and into Tuesday.

High tides combined with strong winds could also see very large waves in Gwynedd and Ceredigion. Keep away from seafronts and promenades, as large waves can be extremely dangerous for people and can flood properties.

Surface water issues are also expected.

Consider what steps you could take NOW to be prepared:

🌧️ Another Amber Weather Warning is in place for the next 24 hours, with rain expected to make driving conditions difficult. Flooding is possible so please be sure to check routes.
Use social media groups if possible such as Love Llandovery and Cyfoeth Naturiol Cymru / Natural Resources Wales to check for any delays or flooding.

⚠️ ⚠️As the day starts there are 2 Flood Warnings and 40 Flood Alerts across Wales ⚠️ ⚠️

Flood warnings are in place for the River Hydfron at Llanddowror and the River Ely at Peterston Super Ely.

With a Met Office Amber warning for rain in place for today in South Wales, more Flood Alerts and Flood Warnings are expected to be issued. There is the possibility of severe impacts to come which can mean danger to life.

There is the potential for impacts especially across parts of South Wales and Powys.

Please take care if you are travelling this morning. Do not walk or drive through floodwater and keep away from swollen riverbanks.
