As Men’s Mental Health Awareness Week begins, we wanted to share a story that has inspired a town.
Two years ago, Nicky Brookfield wasn’t sure he’d still be here.
Today, he’s two years sober.
Standing by the water together, we reflected on the journey that’s brought him here.
Over the past two years, Nicky has found support through both Llanelli Mind and .nutz Not because we had all the answers, but because they gave him somewhere to turn when he needed it.
That’s the thing about FrozenNutz. You don’t have to come every week. You don’t have to commit to anything. It’s simply there when you need it.
Somewhere to be around people.
Somewhere to feel less alone.
Somewhere to keep showing up.
In Carmarthenshire, 22 men die by su***de every year.
Nicky isn’t one of them.
Because he kept showing up.
That’s what FrozenNutz is. A group of men meeting every week. No pressure. No judgement. No expectations.
