Great news for Holyhead!

The regeneration work at St Cybi’s Church and Eglwys y Bedd has been selected as a finalist in the Church Architecture Awards 2026, including the prestigious King of Prussia Gold Medal category.

The project has transformed these historic buildings into more accessible and sustainable spaces for worship, community activities and new opportunities in the heart of Holyhead.

It was led by the County Council's Holyhead Regeneration Programme Team working with the Bangor Diocese and Donald Insall Architects. The project was funded by UK Government Wales / Llywodraeth DU Cymru. with additional support from the Welsh Government and Diocese of Bangor.

The decision is expected early in December

The Impact of Hate Crime

Being targeted because of who you are can affect a person's confidence, wellbeing, sense of safety, and feeling of belonging. It can also create fear and isolation, not only for the individual involved but for others who share the same characteristic or identity.
