Real change happens when we bring people together 👫🌍✨

The Climate Cymru movement would not be possible without the incredible commitment, dedication and enthusiasm of our volunteers.

That’s why we’re celebrating by highlighting the amazing events our team of volunteers have made possible this year.

We’re only half-way through 2026 but our volunteers have been busy helping us organise hustings, run educational workshops and mobilise our network.

Tackling the climate crisis can feel like an overwhelming mission, but change starts with building community and getting people involved on a local level.

Whether you’ve organised a workshop, volunteered at a school, or helped out at an event, you are creating real change in your community.

Ni fyddai mudiad Climate Cymru yn bosibl heb ymrwymiad, ymroddiad a brwdfrydedd anhygoel ein gwirfoddolwyr.

Dyna pam rydym ni'n dathlu drwy dynnu sylw at y digwyddiadau anhygoel y mae ein tîm o wirfoddolwyr wedi'u gwneud yn bosibl eleni.

Gall mynd i'r afael â'r argyfwng hinsawdd deimlo fel cenhadaeth lethol, ond mae newid yn dechrau gydag adeiladu cymuned a chael pobl i gymryd rhan ar lefel leol.

P'un a ydych chi wedi trefnu gweithdy, wedi gwirfoddoli mewn ysgol, neu wedi helpu mewn digwyddiad, rydych chi'n creu newid go iawn yn eich cymuned.

Great Big Green Week is the biggest mass moment for nature and climate in the UK, and it belongs to everyone 💚

Every June, thousands of events take place in towns, cities and villages. Repair cafés, nature walks, community clean-ups, film screenings, people everywhere coming together for good and making a real difference 🤝

FREE community film screenings across Wales this June: The People’s Emergency Briefing 🌎

This is more than a film. The screenings are an opportunity to get together with your community and have honest and open conversations about what we want our future to be.

The People's Emergency Briefing is a powerful film setting out the real risks of the climate and nature emergency, and the credible, positive responses available to us.

Each showing is followed by a discussion and Q&A, a chance to ask questions, share concerns and talk about what positive change looks like where you live 💬

👯 Bring a friend, a neighbour, a colleague. The more of us in the room, the stronger the message we send to the politicians and decision makers who need to hear it.

Mae crefftwr lleol wedi ailddarganfod gwerth gwlân mynydd "diwerth" Cymreig, gan wneud ffermwyr dwyrain Cymru yn falch 🐑🌱

Mae ffermwyr o Ddefaid Mynydd Cymreig yn cofio pan fyddai’r clip gwlân yn talu rhent fferm am y flwyddyn gyfan.

Nawr, mae ffermwr o Dan-y-fron, Rhys, yn dweud bod rhai ffermwyr yn taflu neu’n llosgi’r cnu gan nad oes galw amdano.

Yn drist bod y cnu yn cael ei daflu, gwnaeth y crefftwr lleol, Gill, hi’n genhadaeth iddi ddod o hyd i ddefnyddiau eraill ar gyfer y gwlân bras. Mae ei dyfeisiadau bellach yn cael eu treialu fel dewisiadau amgen di-blastig mewn tyfu a ffermio.

Mae cynhyrchion arloesol Gill yn dangos gwerth defnyddio deunyddiau sydd ar gael yn rhwydd i ni yma yng Nghymru, gan sicrhau nad oes dim yn cael ei wastraffu, a gofalu am natur yn y broses.

A local crafter has re-discovered the value of "worthless" welsh mountain wool, making east Wales farmers proud 🐑🌱

Farmers of Welsh mountain ewes remember when the wool clip would cover the rent of a farm for the whole year.

Now, Tan-y-fron farmer Rhys says some farmers throw away or burn the fleece as there’s just no demand for it.

Upset about the fleece being discarded, local crafter Gill made it her mission to find alternative uses for the coarse wool. Her inventions are now being trialled as plastic-free alternatives in growing and farming.

Gill’s innovative products show us the value of using materials readily available to us here in Wales, making sure nothing goes to waste and looking after nature in the process.

Together, they’ve proved that the most resourceful climate solutions come when you think local and collaborate! 🙌💚

With an aim to support communities across Wales to engage with politicians ahead of the 2026 Senedd elections, Hope for the Future’s formed a partnership with Climate Cymru 💚
