It's been a busy year for HM Coastguard Llansteffan. Our 58th Job of the year involved a report of suspected Ordnance at Ginst Point. Explosive Ordnance Disposal, more commonly known as Bomb Disposal were tasked and confirmed them as live mortar tail sections. You may have heard a loud bang at around 22:00 on Sunday evening when a controlled explosion was used to safely destroy both objects.

If you come across any suspicious objects on the coast call 999 and ask for the Coastguard.

It is with great sadness that today we mourn our friend and colleague Ray Adcock. He was always a proud CRO, bringing a smile and humour to team training and consistent professionalism when responding to incidents. We will miss him. Thank you Ray

A year ago HM Coastguard Llansteffan were tasked to a report of an individual stuck in the mud off Wharley Point, what followed was a rapid response by the team as it became apparent the casualty was not only stuck in the mud, but was waist deep in a water with the tide flooding around them. Also tasked were HM Coastguard Burry Port, Coastgard Rescue Helicopter 187, Ferryside Lifeboat, Tenby Lifeboats RNLI and Gwasanaeth Tân ac Achub CGC / MAWW Fire and Rescue. A red weather warning has been issued in parts of Wales 🔴⚠️

Winds are expected to reach up to 90mph in areas with exposed coastlines. There is a serious threat to life posed by risks of flying debris and falling objects.

Stay well away from the coast and the water's edge. Large waves can easily knock you off your feet and take you out to sea.

If you're in trouble, call 999 and ask for the Coastguard.

The hidden dangers of deep sand holes were at the centre of a multi-agency exercise on a Suffolk beach.

A great outcome yesterday – 10 year-old Tirion was found safe and well by the Llansteffan and Tenby Coastguard Rescue Teams following a multiagency search led by Police in the Tenby area.

FOUND | Tirion who had been reported missing in the Tenby area, has been found safe and well.

Thank you to everyone who shared our appeal.
