Jennie Lee Library - Lochgelly Centre

Jennie Lee Library - Lochgelly Centre One of the most modern libraries in Fife.

Named after The Open University founding Lochgelly born MP, Jennie Lee, the library’s black shelving recalls the area’s rich mining heritage and a stunning fish mural reflects Loch Gelly.

This Saturday we are teaming up with Active Fife for an outdoor Bookbug session at Lochore Meadows!

As part of the Lochore Meadows Walking Festival on Saturday 2nd of May, Niamh and Bookbug will be holding a session at 10.15am meeting in the Willie Clark Centre and (weather dependent) heading outside for some Bookbug fun in the sun.

This session is drop-in so no need to book and the session will be followed by a Toddler Walk with Meg from Active Fife.

Looking forward to seeing you then!

✨ ‘WILD!’ LAUNCH DAY EVENT - TUES 7TH APRIL, 11AM TO 2PM ✨

My new exhibition ‘WILD!’ launches at Lochgelly Centre on Tuesday 7th April and will run through until 25th June.

On Tues 7th April I will be there between 11am and 2pm to introduce myself and show you around the exhibition.

There will be a bespoke collection of original artworks on display as well as a large selection of framed prints.

It’s particularly special for me to be doing this in Lochgelly as I was brought up there, went to primary school in Lochgelly and most of my family still live there!

I’m very proud of my roots and my Mum loves to share the fact that I was part of the open day of Lochgelly Centre in 1976 when Prince Phillip came to open the new Centre. Apparently the Queen had flu and couldn’t make it! 😷🤒

If you can’t make the opening event, I will be at the exhibition most Wednesday’s between 11am and 1pm, and some Saturdays too. I will post details of when I’ll be there every week on my page and website. I would love to see you there! 🖼️
