The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service has issued a high wildfire alert for the south-west of Scotland for today 28th of May.

Please do not light fires or use disposable barbecues while visiting the area. Help us protect our countryside, wildlife and visitors.

Muirshiel Country Park toilets have reopened. The cafe will be open as usual this weekend 11- 4pm.

It's that time of year when lambs get a bit more adventurous and can wander off from their mum's. Most of time they figure it out and get back together ok. Sometimes they need a helping hand. This little explorer had ended up in the Greenock cut. With some encouragement from Rangers John and Mike and a helping hand ewe and lamb were reunited.

Unfortunately the spring fed water tanks at our Greenock Cut visitor centre are not refilling..it is unlikely the centre toilets will be open tomorrow.
