Anti-Slavery Day helps raise awareness of modern slavery and exploitation, encouraging us all to learn the signs, understand the risks, and take action to help protect vulnerable people.
Modern slavery can take many forms, including:
✅ Forced labour
✅ Criminal exploitation and county lines
✅ Sexual exploitation
✅ Domestic servitude
Modern slavery is often hidden, but it can happen anywhere, including within our local communities. By raising awareness, we can help identify victims, challenge exploitation, and support those affected.
Tomorrow, the Bexley Community Safety Partnership is hosting an Anti-Slavery Day Community Conference, bringing together residents, professionals, parents, carers and young people to learn more about modern slavery and exploitation and how we can work together to tackle it.
The conference will include:
🎤 A powerful lived experience speaker
🎭 A theatre performance exploring grooming, county lines and child criminal exploitation
🤝 Information and support from organisations working with survivors
