On Tuesday, I said goodbye to my much-loved Mum, Wendy.
Mum was an incredibly kind and caring woman. She dedicated her life to others—as a teacher, wife, mother, and wonderful Nanny to our children.
Words could never describe how much she'll be missed, and I haven't even started to fathom or comprehend the loss at this stage.
All I know right now is that I loved her enormously and that I always will. She steadfastly stood beside me and showed me unconditional love throughout my transition and at all stages in my life, fiercely championing me through it all, and that is something I will forever be grateful for.
Throughout her life, she showed incredible strength as she fought cancer three times, beating it twice before her final battle with bowel cancer, which took her from us.
Though her last days were not easy, she was given some comfort by the amazing staff in the wonderful setting of the Countess of Brecknock Hospice.
