Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) Role

For This PBS Role we are looking for:
• At least one years’ experience of working with people with autism, complex and challenging behaviour and learning disabilities in a variety of settings.
• Experience of working 1:1 and using initiative and problem solving when faced with challenges.
• To have a calm and unflappable approach when dealing with challenging behaviour.
• As well as further skills and qualifications that can be found on our website.

Day-Opportunities/Support Worker Role
For This Opportunities Role we are looking for:
• Previous experience of working as a support worker at a college, day service, community outreach or residential setting.
• An ability to complete tasks in a timely fashion.
• An understanding of supporting clients with autism, learning disabilities and complex needs.
• As well as further skills and qualifications that can be found on our website.

Researchers have identified new gene variants that influence your risk of ADHD and autism.

In the group of neurodevelopmental disorders, ADHD and autism have a number of things in common: They are two of the most frequent child psychiatric diagnoses; both are highly heritable; and, although the fundamental symptoms vary, autism and ADHD have a large overlap in their underlying genetic origins.

Researchers have now discovered five gene variants that are unique to only one of the two diagnoses, as well as seven genetic variants that are shared by both ADHD and autism.
