✈️ On to Stop #3: Mumbai, Maharashtra

Good morning from Mumbai!

The Premier, along with our delegation and members from the private sector, have arrived in Mumbai — India’s financial capital and the third stop of our four-city mission across India.

What is Mumbai’s role?

Mumbai is the heart of India’s economy. Home to the Reserve Bank of India, the Bombay Stock Exchange, and the headquarters of India’s largest banks, asset managers, and corporate conglomerates, the city drives capital markets, insurance, and corporate finance for the entire country. It’s also a global hub for media, tech, and entrepreneurship.

Why it’s critical for this mission:

While New Delhi sets policy and GIFT City provides the IFSC framework, Mumbai is where deals get done. It’s where institutional investors, fund managers, and corporate decision-makers are based. For The Virgin Islands, Mumbai is the key to building relationships with the firms that deploy capital into India and abroad.

What’s possible here:

📈 Capital Markets & Investment Banking: Partnerships with BSE, NSE, and leading investment banks to facilitate cross-border listings and fund flows

📈 Asset Management & Private Equity: Collaboration with fund houses and PE firms seeking efficient, regulated jurisdictions for India-focused funds

⚖️ Corporate Services & Legal: Working with top law firms and corporate service providers who advise India’s largest companies on global structuring

👨‍💼Insurance & Reinsurance: Engagements with major insurers and brokers headquartered in Mumbai to explore captive and specialty insurance solutions

📲 Fintech & Startup Ecosystem: Connections with Mumbai’s fintech accelerators, VCs, and unicorns driving digital payments, wealth-tech, and lending

As we touch down in Mumbai, our focus is on converting policy dialogue into commercial partnerships and investment back home. This is where capital meets opportunity.

Stay tuned for updates from meetings with financial institutions, corporate leaders, and innovators. 🇮🇳🇻🇬

Police Information Office - Press Release
Saturday 22nd August 2026

𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐍𝐆𝐄𝐒 𝐓𝐎 𝐕𝐈𝐒𝐀 𝐖𝐀𝐈𝐕𝐄𝐑 𝐀𝐏𝐏𝐋𝐈𝐂𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐒 - The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) wishes to advise the public of an important change to the administration of visa waivers.

Effective immediately, visa waivers will no longer be valid for the remaining life of the holder's passport. Instead, all visa waivers issued under the revised policy will be granted for a maximum period of two (2) years, irrespective of the expiry date of the passport.

This change forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen border security measures and maintain the mutual security of both parties in the visa waiver scheme.

Applicants seeking a visa waiver should note that approval remains subject to all existing eligibility requirements. The granting of a visa waiver continues to be considered on a case-by-case basis, with necessary consultation with our law enforcement counterparts in the United States.

The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force is committed to facilitating appropriate administration of the scheme, working in partnership with partners in the interest of mutual safety and security. We appreciate the public's cooperation and understanding we work to implement this change.

Graduate Spotlight

Congratulations to our BVI student, Aryana Barrett, on her recent graduation from Queen Mary University of London, where she earned a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Accounting and Management with First Class Honours.

Aryana’s outstanding academic achievement was further recognised when she received the prestigious Principal’s Prize for the Graduating Class of 2026.

The BVI London Office proudly celebrates Aryana’s success and extends its warmest congratulations. We wish her every success as she embarks on the next chapter of her journey and pursues her future aspirations.

Read on as Aryana shares, in her own words, her experiences at university and her ambitions for the future.

“My academic journey has been a whirlwind of experiences, people, knowledge, and cultures. Studying abroad required many sacrifices, but it also brought immense rewards, personal growth, and countless opportunities. Throughout my studies, I have not only expanded my knowledge in my field but have also developed both personally and professionally. Every challenge has helped shape who I am today, and I would not trade the experience for anything.

As a recipient of the Deloitte Scholarship from 2023 to 2026, I have had the opportunity to work with Deloitte while pursuing my studies, allowing me to gain valuable practical experience alongside my academic journey. Following graduation, I am excited to return to Deloitte BVI full-time as a Tax Associate. I am excited to build on my experience and contribute to the firm that has played a key role in my journey.

In addition, I plan to pursue my ACCA qualification and a master’s degree as I continue to advance my career and expand my expertise within the financial services industry.”
