First presented at the Ghika Gallery of the Benaki Museum in Athens, the exhibition now arrives in London, offering a painterly voyage through Homer’s Odyssey through paintings, artist’s books and map-based works.

A contemporary visual journey through one of the world’s most enduring stories and greatest tales ever told.

📌 l Το Σάββατο 6 Ιουνίου, ο Πρέσβης Γιάννης Τσαούσης υποδέχθηκε στην Ελληνική Πρεσβευτική Κατοικία μαθητές και εκπαιδευτικούς των Ελληνικών Σχολείων Αγίων Αναργύρων και Τιμίου Σταυρού. (𝗙𝗼𝗿 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵, 𝗽𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗹 𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻)

Κατά τη διάρκεια της επίσκεψης, εξήγησε στους μαθητές τη σημασία της διατήρησης της ελληνικής γλώσσας, του πολιτισμού και των παραδόσεών μας.

Οι μαθητές και οι εκπαιδευτικοί είχαν την ευκαιρία να περιηγηθούν στη μόνιμη έκθεση αφιερωμένη στον Νομπελίστα ποιητή και διπλωμάτη Γιώργο Σεφέρη, και να συμμετάσχουν σε εκπαιδευτικές δραστηριότητες που διοργάνωσε η Ελληνική Βιβλιοθήκη του Λονδίνου.

Ευχαριστούμε θερμά την κα Γεωργία Καραντώνα για το εκπαιδευτικό πρόγραμμα « Ένα Ταξίδι στη Ζωή και το Έργο του Γιώργου Σεφέρη», καθώς και τον συγγραφέα Νίκο Δαββέτα που μας τίμησε με την παρουσία του .

Ο Πρέσβης προσέφερε επίσης βιβλία για τον εμπλουτισμό των βιβλιοθηκών των δύο σχολείων.

Ευχόμαστε σε όλους τους μαθητές καλή πρόοδο και κάθε επιτυχία στις σπουδές τους. Το ταξίδι της γνώσης δεν τελειώνει ποτέ. 🇬🇷📚

📌 l On Saturday, 6 June, Ambassador Yannis Tsaousis, warmly welcomed to the Hellenic Residence students and teachers from the Greek Schools of Saint Anargyre and the Holy Cross. During the visit, he spoke about the importance of preserving the Greek language, culture, and traditions.

The students and teachers had the opportunity to explore the permanent exhibition dedicated to the Nobel Prize laureate poet and diplomat George Seferis, and to participate in educational activities organised by the Greek Library of London.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Ms Georgia Karantona for the educational programme, “A Journey Through the Life and Work of George Seferis,” as well as to the author Mr Nikos Davvetas, who honoured us with his presence.

The Ambassador also donated books to enrich the libraries of both schools.
We wish all the students every success in their studies. Keep learning and growing, for the journey of knowledge never ends. 🇬🇷📚

⚓️🛳️ Posidonia 2026 opened its gates, welcoming the global maritime community to Athens (1-5 June 2026)

On the 1st of June, the global maritime community gathered in Athens for the official Opening Ceremony of , held in the presence of the Prime Minister of Greece, Mr. Kyriakos Mitsotakis, the EU Commissioner for Sustainable Transport and Tourism, Mr. Apostolos Tzitzikostas, the Greek Minister of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy, Mr. Vasilis Kikilias, Ένωσις Ελλήνων Εφοπλιστών -Union of Greek Shipowners President Mrs. Melina Travlos, the Secretary-General of the International Maritime Organization - IMO, Mr. Arsenio Dominguez, the President of Panama, Mr. José Raúl Mulino, and distinguished representatives of governments and maritime organisations from around the world.

“Greek shipping constitutes a national and European asset that must be safeguarded, especially at a time when the strategic and geopolitical importance of shipping is being highlighted more strongly than ever in recent years,’’ said Prime Minster Kyriakos Mitsotakis, addressing representatives of Greek and international media and more than 800 leading figures of the global maritime community.

This year's edition is the largest in Posidonia's history, bringing together 2,227 exhibitors from 83 countries and territories, 24 national pavilions, and an expanded programme of approximately 70 conferences, forums and seminars.

Posidonia 2026 is organised under the auspices of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy Υπουργείο Ναυτιλίας & Νησιωτικής Πολιτικής , the Hellenic Chamber of Shipping and the Union of Greek Shipowners, with the support of the Municipality of Piraeus and the Greek Shipping Co-operation Committee.

Ο Πρέσβης Γιάννης Τσαούσης υποδέχθηκε χθες στην Πρεσβευτική Κατοικία μέλη του Διοικητικού Συμβουλίου του Ithaca Birmingham - Ελληνικός Πολιτιστικός Σύλλογος Μπέρμινγχαμ "Ιθάκη"(𝙁𝙤𝙧 𝙀𝙣𝙜𝙡𝙞𝙨𝙝, 𝙥𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙚 𝙨𝙘𝙧𝙤𝙡𝙡 𝙙𝙤𝙬𝙣)

Κατά την επίσκεψη τους τα μέλη του Συλλόγου ξεναγήθηκαν στη μόνιμη έκθεση " Γιώργος Σεφέρης: Ο Άνθρωπος, ο Ποιητής, ο Διπλωμάτης" που φιλοξενείται στην Πρεσβευτική Κατοικία.

Στη διάρκεια της συνάντησης συζητήθηκαν πρωτοβουλίες και δράσεις για την προώθηση του ελληνικού πολιτισμού, της γλώσσας και των παραδόσεων στο Birmingham και στην ευρύτερη περιοχή των West Midlands, oι οποίες συμβάλλουν στη διατήρηση της ελληνικής πολιτιστικής κληρονομιάς και την ενίσχυση των δεσμών της ομογένειας με την Ελλάδα.

Ambassador Yannis Tsaousis warmly welcomed yesterday to the Hellenic Residence in London board members of the Greek Cultural Society of Birmingham “Ithaca”.

During the visit they were shown around the Embassy’s permanent exhibition on George Seferis.

The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss initiatives promoting Greek culture, language and traditions in Birmingham and across the wider West Middlands region, while strengthening ties with the Greek Diaspora.

A contemporary visual journey through Homer’s timeless epic, unfolding across painting, artist’s books, and imagined cartographies of myth and memory.

🎨📖 At the centre of the exhibition is a four-volume artist’s book created on a digital reproduction of Harley MS 6325, a 15th-century manuscript of Homer’s Odyssey from the British Library, painted with charcoal and ink.
