Palestine-Israel: A Call For Change
In discussing the situation between Palestine and Israel, it's crucial not to condone the actions of the Israeli leadership, while also recognizing the need to address issues within one's own community.
Every year during Ramadan, Hamas launches significant rocket attacks on Israel, aware that the Iron Dome will intercept most of them. Subsequently, in response to inevitable Israeli counterattacks, Hamas raises funds globally, exploiting the oppressed Palestinians in a cynical money game.
Two years ago, Gaza lost 250 lives in exchange for twelve Israeli citizens, including sixty-five Palestinian children, and billions were lost. Gaza's already fragile economy collapsed, yet Hamas and the Muslim Ummah celebrated victory after a temporary ceasefire. This pattern continues.
Israel's rapid development contrasts sharply with the Arab world's backwardness. Remarkably, Israel, with less than one-tenth of one percent of the world's population, receives 20% of global investment in cybersecurity. Their success is not solely due to their Jewish identity but their merit. Importantly, one million Muslim citizens in Israel choose to retain their Israeli citizenship, finding it beneficial.
One cannot defend Israeli atrocities or aggression logically. It's essential to view this tragedy from a universal human perspective, transcending religious boundaries. Sixteen wars in seventy years have yielded devastating consequences. Is the resolution to launch rockets and lose property the only path left?
The question arises: Can the Palestinian issue be resolved on the battlefield or through negotiations? Can Israel be defeated with stones and slingshots, or must the struggle shift to the realms of knowledge and technology? Do the manifestos of Hamas and Hezbollah suffice, or is a new constitution necessary? These questions linger, with answers concealed in history and the contemporary global landscape. Nevertheless, the truth remains: Palestinians have lost much and gained nothing. Isn't it time for change? Let's light a candle in this darkness.
