Another internal promotion to celebrate at Complii! We're delighted to announce that Julie Thompson MSc Chartered FCIPD has been promoted to HR Director, joining our Senior Leadership Team.

Julie joined Complii as Senior HR Business Partner, bringing a wealth of experience across multinational organisations and particular expertise in navigating global due diligence, integrations and large-scale organisational change. Since joining, she's played a central role in supporting our buy-and-build growth, helping new businesses settle into the group while keeping people at the heart of that journey.

As HR Director, Julie will lead HR strategy across all five of our divisions - Water, Air, Fire, Electrical, and Lifts and Escalators - with a continued focus on coaching, mentoring and empowering supportive managers throughout the group.

As Complii continues to grow, it's people like Julie who make sure that growth never comes at the expense of our culture. Congratulations, Julie!

We're delighted to welcome White Lift Services to Complii.

Since 1991, White Lift Services has been servicing, maintaining, repairing, modernising and installing lifts across Yorkshire and the North of England - offering 24-hour engineer support across passenger lifts, goods lifts, food hoists and stair lifts, and building a loyal customer base across property management, facilities management, care, education, healthcare, local authorities and commercial premises.

This acquisition builds on the strength of our Lifts and Escalators division, extending our reach across the North of England.

Chris Gadsby will continue to lead the White Lift Services team, giving customers and colleagues continuity and confidence as we start this new chapter together.

Complii is entering its next phase of growth, and we're strengthening our leadership team to match.

We're delighted to announce two senior appointments to our executive team: Scott McKay as Chief Operating Officer and Martin Truscott as Chief Commercial Officer.

Both are internal promotions, reflecting the depth of talent across our Group and our commitment to developing and investing in our own people.

Since rebranding from Compliance Group last November, we've continued to grow rapidly, both organically and through acquisition, across our five divisions: Water, Air, Fire, Electrical, and Lifts & Escalators. As we continue to expand, we're evolving how we operate to ensure our customers benefit from a consistent, high-quality experience across the breadth of Complii's services.

As COO, Scott McKay will lead operational performance, service excellence and the implementation of our OneComplii operating model, helping us scale effectively while maintaining the high standards our customers expect.

As CCO, Martin Truscott will lead our commercial strategy, sales performance and customer account development, ensuring clients can access the full breadth of Complii's expertise and services through a more connected and customer-focused approach.

Together, they will play a key role in strengthening our OneComplii model, enhancing collaboration across the Group, supporting the successful onboarding of new businesses, and ensuring we continue to deliver exceptional value to our customers as we grow.

There’s nothing quite like spending time with colleagues face-to-face.

This week Scott McKay, Rick Anderson and Ateeq Altaf visited three of our Fire Division businesses to discuss our strategy for the second half of the year and the exciting plans we have ahead.

It was also a great opportunity to strengthen collaboration between our Fire and Electrical divisions, ensuring we’re aligned in how we support our customers and continue to grow together.

One of the biggest strengths within Complii is the quality of leadership across all of our divisions. Bringing together leaders from Fire, Electrical and the wider Group creates an environment where ideas are shared openly, best practice is exchanged, and opportunities are identified that benefit the entire business.

By working collaboratively rather than in silos, we’re building a stronger, more connected organisation that delivers greater value to our customers and creates more opportunities for our people.

While strategy sessions are important, taking time to step away from the day-to-day is just as valuable. Sharing ideas over some excellent food, reflecting on what we’ve achieved, and strengthening relationships across the business are all key ingredients for long-term success.

Strong organisations are built on strong leadership, and strong leadership is built on trust, collaboration and a shared vision. Investing time in each other allows us to challenge thinking, celebrate successes and ensure we’re all moving in the same direction as one team.

A huge thank you to all of the leaders and colleagues across the Complii Group who continue to support one another and drive the business forward. Looking forward to an exciting H2 and building on the momentum we’ve created together.

This weekend, some of our Senior Leadership Team are taking on the Wolf Run - a 10K off-road challenge through mud, water, and obstacles - raising money for Cancer Research UK.

Cancer Research UK is the world’s largest independent cancer research charity, working every day to bring forward the time when all cancers are cured. It’s a cause that matters to so many of us, and we’re happily putting our trainers (and dignity) on the line for it.

We’re incredibly proud of the team for taking this on. Every donation, no matter the size, goes directly towards life-saving research.

The Complii Fire Division came together face-to-face for the first time this week - a fantastic milestone for our growing team.

We spent time aligning on strategy, strengthening collaboration, and building closer connections with colleagues across the business. With continuous recruitment underway, it’s exciting to see the team expanding week by week.

This session was all about introductions, shared goals, and setting the tone for what’s ahead — a real sense of alignment and ambition among an exceptional group of people.

We are looking for a hands-on Operations Manager to lead our fire protection engineering division at Abbot Fire Group (Part of Complii). If you are a leader who balances operational excellence with a people-first approach, we want to hear from you.

This is a national role based in Buckingham, overseeing a team of 15 Fire Protection Engineers and driving a £3M+ operation.

The role

Based in Buckingham with a national reach, you’ll be the heartbeat of our field operations. Whether you’re coaching a technician on ANSUL R102 standards in a commercial kitchen or presenting compliance strategies to a key client, you’ll drive the standards that keep people safe. You’ll champion a safety-first culture, oversee KPIs like first-time fix rates, and mentor your team to identify value-led growth opportunities.

Who you are

You’re a seasoned leader with a background in engineering or fire protection (BAFE, CHAS, ISO 9001). You’re as comfortable diving into technical audits as you are motivating a remote team. Most importantly, you’re a proactive problem-solver who thrives on variety, from the office to the field.
