Ahead of the local elections tomorrow....

As tomorrow is election day, I just wanted to make my final pitch to local residents as to why I’m asking for your vote to be Dartford North East’s next County Councillor.

I’ve lived in Dartford all my life, and I love our community. I put myself forward in this election because I wanted to further the work I’ve started as a Borough Councillor, whether that’s on parking, litter, keeping our area safe or a whole host of other issues. I also run lots of projects that I hope make the town better, including Dartford Safer Roads, Dartford Covid 19 Mutual Aid and Dartford Deeds Not Words Foundation.

Dartford has a choice tomorrow. A choice between business as usual with the Conservatives or choosing a better path with Labour. A choice between the same old broken services and higher council tax bills with the Conservatives or electing a Labour Councillor that will listen to you and put our area first.

Sadly the Conservatives here have chosen an alternative path and have spent the campaign making personal attacks and using lies about a ‘car tax’ on their election literature. I want to be clear that I fully oppose any charge to residents travelling between Kent and London, but it’s also clear that this is more scaremongering from the Conservatives than a realistic prospect.

Please choose truth over lies, hope over fear and unity over division tomorrow. Please choose a plan for this area over personal attacks.

This election is a two horse race between Labour and the Conservatives. If you vote for any other Party, the Conservatives will win. If you don’t want four more years of higher and higher council tax for the same broken services, I am the only candidate to vote for who can beat the Conservatives here.

If you elect me to Kent County Council tomorrow, I promise I’ll be a champion for residents, working hard all year round - like I have on Dartford Borough Council. Please vote for me, Kelly Grehan, to be Dartford North East’s next County Councillor. I will not let you down.
