In employability services, 5 extra minutes with someone who’s been out of work can make a huge difference.

It might be the chance for an employment adviser to ask one more question, build trust, or help someone start to see a path forward.

But too often, that time is lost to admin.

Richard Massey, Head of Continuous Improvement at AKG, recently spoke about how AI can help change that, not just by reducing admin, but by giving employment advisers more time with the people they support.

As he said during a recent Beam webinar:

“It’s not just about saving five minutes. It’s about where those five minutes are spent.”

🎉 Funding from the Community Organisations Cost of Living Fund delivered by The National Lottery Community Fund, has helped us to support 18 people in Greenwich out of homelessness for good.

🏡 By supporting this work, The National Lottery Community Fund has helped to deliver life-changing support to those most impacted by the cost of living crisis in the U.K., helping not only to give these people a safe place to call home, but also in building the foundations for a fairer and more equal community.

🎉 High Speed Training have supported over 250 homeless people and refugees into safe homes and employment through Beam.

📢 At our first company day of the year, we had a lot to shout about!

Here’s what we achieved together in 2023:
👏 1,468 lives supported
👏 720 campaigns fully funded
👏 £1.1m received in donations
👏 95% of people still housed 6 months later

🌟 Each year, thanks to our growing, awesome team, we support more people. In 2024, the work goes on to set new records!

🎅 Throwback to Christmas 2017.

Our founder and CEO, Alex Stephany, with Tony, the first homeless person to use Beam.

That year, we worked with Tony as he qualified as an electrician, moved out of his homeless hostel and fixed his family relationships.

💡 To this day, Tony works as an electrician in London, keeping the lights on in a hospital - which he did through Covid.

Beam has so far supported close to 3,000 homeless people and refugees into jobs and homes.

Today, an all-time high of 248 people and families are working with a Beam caseworker to get housing and employment support.

🎄 That's why this Christmas, we’re urgently raising £131,370 to support homeless families and children in the UK dreaming of stability and a safe home.

🚀 When we launched Beam, we wanted to find a way to upskill people experiencing homelessness, so they could earn a living and get back on their feet.

💯 Since then, we've helped hundreds of people to qualify as bricklayers, beauticians, accountants and so much more!

🙌 We're now delighted to partner with leading online training provider High Speed Training to offer free training courses to our beneficiaries in everything from office skills to health and social care to food hygiene.
