We have dedicated staff and volunteers helping us to deliver services and activities for older people and their carers.

Our Bakers Arms shop and The Hub have a wide range of books to choose from – whether you're looking for a classic, a mystery or something new to discover.

And if you love talking about the books you read, why not join our friendly Book Club? 📖

Fancy getting active while having fun? Join us for an easy-to-follow, low-impact Zumba Dance class that’s invigorating and exhilarating!

💖 Remembering Dolly Parton – and her wonderful attitude to ageing

We were saddened to hear of the death of Dolly Parton, who passed away aged 80. A true icon whose music, generosity and positive spirit touched generations. 🌟

Dolly once said:

"I don't think about my life in terms of numbers. First of all, I ain't never gonna be old because I ain't got time to be old."

She went on to say that staying young is about what comes from within – "it's an attitude" and that you have to "shine from within." ✨

At Age UK Waltham Forest, we couldn't agree more. Getting older isn't about a number. It's about the people we meet, the things we enjoy, the friendships we make, the new experiences we try and the contribution we continue to make to our community.

Dolly certainly knew how to shine. 💕 And her words are a lovely reminder that age should never stop us from living life, trying something new or being ourselves.

So today, let's celebrate Dolly – turn up the music, have a little singalong and keep shining! 🎶✨

As Dolly might say: we haven't got time to be old!

Join volunteer Mike to explore LibreOffice, which includes free alternatives to:

You'll also learn how LibreOffice works with Microsoft Office file formats, making it easy to share and edit documents with MS Office users.
